Creative Labs WebCam 5
Review of Creative Video Blaster WebCam 5 by ilaskey

Advantages: Good low light performance, cheap
Disadvantages: No built in microphone

...so ended up with a Creative Labs WebCam 5. Creative Labs' WebCam 5 promised improved low light performance but given its low price point, I wasn't expecting too much. As it turns out I was pleasantly surprised. Installation Due to the low price the WebCam 5 is a fairly minimalist affair. The box contains the camera with a captive USB lead and the software CD. Being a USB device, the drivers and software need to be installed first before plugging ...
...the Creative Video Blaster WebCam Control which allows you to set up the camera settings to suit your environment. The software is quite flexible here with lots to twiddle including various white balance settings, resolutions, frame rates, colour models and so on. The defaults were fine for me though. Windows immediately recognised the camera which draws its power from the PC and upon firing up the software I was treated(?) to the image of myself ... Read review

beware, not the simple all-in-one cam
Review of Creative Video Blaster WebCam Go Plus by robbiee

Advantages: single camera for at pc and anywhere use
Disadvantages: unstable, crashes and hangs pc

...the latest drivers from the creative website, but this still didnt fix the problem and support was basic to put it mildly. What seemed a great idea, a webcam that works as a camera on the go, didnt materialise from Creative. Picture quality very poor, tricky to use and UNSTABLE on my pc are warnings against this. Other ideas: Probably wiser to stick to 2 separate cams, a webcam and a portable digital camera or look at other products. Good luck! ... Read review

Genius Slim 1322AF Webcam
Review of Genius Slim 1322AF by rdtwg

Advantages: 1.3 Mega pixels Auto-Focus, support Mac OS X 10.4.8 or above.
Disadvantages: no lens protector.

...have been using this product Genius Slim 1322AF for about 3 weeks, and I really love it. The form is small and easy to install in many types of computer screen. The first thing that made me choose from the webcam is that it supports Mac OS X (10.4.8 or above). I use Mac OS 10.4.11, and this product works well with apps like Yahoo Messenger and Skype. It features an auto-focus lens that provides clear image quality, and it response quick enough to ... Read review

Just what you need for video calls
Review of Logitech Quickcam E 3500 by senaiboy

Advantages: Clear image even in low light, vivid colours, wide viewing angle, great webcam software
Disadvantages: Spherical shape (cumbersome for laptop users), backlighting compensation can be improved

...to the product at hand, Logitech Quickcam E 3500. Honestly, when it comes to webcams, it's either Logitech or Microsoft that are the popular ones. Unfortunately I don't have a Microsoft webcam to compare it to, so this will be based on my experience with this Logitech webcam alone. 1. Picture Quality and Capture Rate I guess most of all one would like to know how good the quality of the picture seen on the webcam is. Glad to say that with the E3500, ...
...is just like any other Logitech webcams I suspect. Setting up requires a brief installation of the webcam software provided, and after that it'll be just plug-and-play. 7. Value for money I bought this at a promotional price of £14.99 from PCWorld, so for me I think it's worth every penny spent. Conclusion: Frankly, I bought this webcam with very high expectations (no less from Logitech!), and I am glad to say that I am now a very happy customer. ... Read review
