Even though we are not having the weather I have used this BBQ once under cover in the garden and I don’t like it at all.

Frankly it is amazing and cooks the food very very well but it like a BMW or Mercedes and German engineering takes the fun out of the action due to being so good and efficient.

I my experience you are not having a BBQ if your not using coals burning your fingers or filling the Garden with smoke.

You need a shower at the end of the night because you smell of burning, charcoal and cooked food, you don’t have any fun getting the BBQ going with a gas BBQ, it just lights and cooks so it depends what you want.

The real Aussie feel of a proper BBQ with the charcol and sometimes burnt or over done taste, or perfectly rigid as to be cooked indoors food that is no fun.

The Weber Spirit classic is good to look at and easy to use, on wheels so very mobile and very easy to clean having Porcelain enamelled flavouring bars, Porcelain enamelled cooking grates.

The design is a basic metal box on wheels with two doors to house the gas canister, and two off hanging work blocks that double as solid handles and Left and right-hand condiment baskets, with one with gas controls and the other a removable lid to house utensils.

The BBQ itself is above the canister box with a levered lid that reveals a sizeable grill and one level levered shelf for more space and split cooking ( as seen on the pictures)

The BBQ has two stainless steel burners but I believe 3 would have sufficed and enlarged the cooking area, there is a full surface removable drip tray that catches all drippings with a trendy grey plastic handle, although I can see this melting at some point.
Porcelain enamelled shroud with centre mounted thermometer for full control while cooking which also aids cleaning being porcelain.

The gas canister is standard canister with 26,000 BTU per hour input (7.61kW/h) and last a good for to 5 BBQ which is very good and economic.
The BBQ has Removable thermoset work surface on either handle and a Crossover ignition system for one strike immediate lighting, and 3 tool holders although I need 6 for the tools I have and the amount I need to cook.
The whole cart base and BBQ is painted black with painted doors and black painted side and rear panels.
The BBQ base also has Crack proof all weather wheels and locking casters to stabilise the base while cooking, and with a cooking area of 350 sq. in. / 2258 cm2, you can cook a reasonable amount but not enough for my regular family BBC’s that feed up-to and over 16, so even with this efficient and lovely looking BBQ I have to cook in rounds and cant cook as much at once as I could with my basic BBQ with coals and one large grill.
The dimensions are Height 151cm, Width 132cm, Depth 71cm so its a medium size you can get a lot bigger and smaller depending on needs and tastes.
One good extra is the 25 year Weber warranty if the BBQ is maintained and looked after as advised, so when in need of spares they are free further down the road after a few years of use.

This BBQ would be ideal for a family of 4 or 5 or a couple, for quick well cooked food, but for my needs its not quite what I wanted as the BBQ’s in my household are ritualistic and involve drinking round a dying BBQ late into the night.

I cant bring myself to say this isn’t any good because I d be lieing, it is very good and amazing at cooking food equally and not burning anything to a crisp, but it not for me.

I spent £279.99 on this and could have spent less then a 3rd of the price on one I’d be happy with, its a case of a unthoughtful buy, so I shall be selling it after one BBQ at a loss in the local paper and shop, or maybe ebay.

I shall be getting a basic one, but none the less I cant fault this BBQ its does what it says and does it well with no faults, it looks nice and has a great warranty although its expensive which is its only down side.
