I have bought these Weetabix minis occasionally and thought they are a good buy and definitely worth a review . I don’t know really why I don’t buy them more often . I think it’s because where I shop they only have them in from time to time . So having purchased a huge box last week on special I thought I better review them now before they are all scoffed .The box I bought had a 50% extra free label on it and so weighed 675g . I‘m not sure of the price but I think it was around a £1 and very good .
For my money I got a large box with Weetabix Minis splashed across it and resembling ordinary weetabix packaging , in colour and design . I am reviewing the Fruit and Crisp Weetabix Minis and this is usually the variety I buy . There are also Honey and Nut minis , Banana Minis and Chocolate Minis if you fancy trying .
When you open the outer packaging you will see a large polythene bag , as you would in most cereals . Opening this you can smell an oatey weetabix smell but more sweet than usual .Taking out a Mini you have a tiny miniature Weetabix , well in looks that is .These Minis probably measure less than 2 inches by 1 inch .When you look at them closely they are different to normal weetabix .
Firstly they have a slightly glazed , shiny appearance . They are much harder also and less crumbly . Lastly there are bits of fruit and nut to be seen .These are chopped hazelnuts, almonds and currants . The currants are quite hard but I do like them . As I often add other things to my breakfast cereal I like these Minis with a handful of juicy sultanas , sliced fresh fruit and or a small amount of sunflower or pumpkin seeds .Having said this you don’t really need to as they are tasty on their own .
What I like about these is they are different , crunchy , crispy , flavoursome , hold the milk well and so do not go mushy , plus they are not too sweet . I don’t take sugar on cereals at all but don’t find these sweet like Frosties . Despite this there still may be enough sugar for people with a sweet tooth .
A bit of info:-
Wholegrain High in Fibre Fortified with vitamins and iron Allergy advice - contains wheat ,hazelnuts and almonds. Produced on a line handling peanuts and other tree nuts. 100g has 359cals , which is average with cereals . Suitable for vegetarians . Contains Folic Acid .
Recommendation **********************
Weetabix Minis are recommended for their taste , good value and great nutrition . There is a little more salt than I would have liked but that may reduce with time . As a balance against that they are really low in fat .Weetabix minis taste great in the morning , or evening , with lashings of cold milk . Lately I have been trying rice milk and Soya milk .Rice milk is very low in fat but quite sweet so that may be good , for some folks , with this cereal . As a snack weetabix minis are so crunchy and crisp they are great just eaten out of the box , naked as the day they were produced.
Remember though as it says on the box they are moreish and I for one can testify to that .
Advantages: Alternatives to normal Weetabix Disadvantages: VERY Dangerous on their own
...BOTTOM *****
Weetabix Mini Crunch On the Go are fairly new and made by Weetabix Ltd (well of course they are). They come in four varieties, Chocolate, Banana, Fruit & Nut and Honey and are available in 40g bags that are very eye catching. Bright yellow packets with mini Weetabix flying towards you, you just cannot miss them on the shelves.
Weetabix has been around for a long time and the original Weetabix is often used by dieters (including myself) ... ...could be said for the Weetabix Mini Crunch however as they have gluten and sugar in them and obviously the chocolate, banana, fruit & Nut or Honey all help to pile on that extra weight.
I first decided to buy these as a break time snack for my children as they both love Weetabix and the mini version would be a good alternative to those break time chocolate bars. However, it soon became apparent that the kids were not eating them at break times. ...

Advantages: Price, variety and healthy Disadvantages: none
...breakfast. I had tried Weetabix before, so decided to give this a try. Off to Tesco for a browse around the cereal section. I was staggered by the array of cereals, how could I choose? I looked out for the old yellow box that I knew from years ago, thankfully, the packaging had not changed much in years, so I was able to find the product. Along with the original Weetabix, I found the new mini crunch variety. This looked interesting. However, I rarely ... ...that denotes the flavours. The Weetabix logo covers roughly a third of the box. I actually found the pictures appealing, the variety I finally settled on, were the fruit and nut flavour. The purple edging identified the flavour. Around the Logo, were images of the contents. One image was of a whole oval-shaped biscuit, filled with fruit and nuts. Another image was a life-size image of a broken biscuit, spilling out the crispy wheat flakes. Dotted ...

Advantages: Healthy, taste gorgeous Disadvantages: Not enough breakfast times in a week!!
...they"re full of Weetabix goodness and fortified with vitamins and iron..."
Hmmm, intriguing.....
I looked at the picture underneath-apparently there are 4 different flavours-honey and nut(the one I picked up), fruit and nut crisp, chocolate chip and banana.
What appealed the most was that they were exact little replicas of their big brother-and I couldnt resist trying out the honey and nut ones!!
When I got my new discovery home, I made a coffee, ... ...a hint of the old Weetabix taste-these were by far the tastier option. They did"nt go all gooey and soggy-like the original Weetabix can, and they had a pleasant crunchiness, withiout any teeth cracking experiences!!
I could immediatelly taste the honey(yum) and the amount of peanuts was just right-a subtle hint-not an overload-that left nut shards stuck in your teeth-again a good thing for those who eat breakfast early on the work day-before they ...

Advantages: THEY ARE DELICIOUS ! Disadvantages: You could become addicted
...familiar yellow box. It said Weetabix on the box, but it wasn't, it was weetabix with a twist. Weetabix Mini Crunch. Perfect ! I thought, get the children eating healthy without them knowing. At £1.49 each or 2 for £2 they were a bargain too! There were 4 varieties on offer, honey, fruit and nut, chocolate, or banana. I opted for the honey and as I was going home without a toy I thought that I would compromisewith the chocolate. (chips). I grabbed ... ...I decided to give the weetabix crunch a go.
The smell that greeted me as I opened the box was quite a pleasant surprise. There was the familiar wheaty wiff of weetabix mixed with a sweet toffee like aroma. So far so good ! The size also surprised me too. Products that I have purchased in the past that are 'mini' need finding with a magnifying glass but not these, they are nice bitesized pieces that are surprisingly filling. They have the regular ...

Advantages: Cereals with lumps of chocolate Disadvantages: Actually, they taste horrid
Whilst shopping on line (Tesco) I had some spare time and browsed through the cereals. I like Weetabix myself (with full fat milk and loads of sugar!) so when I spotted the WeetabixMiniCrunch with Chocolate, I thought I would buy them for the "children" hehehe.
They were on offer, two packets for £2.00 or £1.78 each. I thought the offer was a good one and have 2 children and 2 step children decided to get both.
When they arrived they were in the recognisable weetabix box, but with pictures of tiny weetabix's on the front with lumps of chocolate inside. The packaging was yellow and brown - to reflect the chocolate.
I had to test them for my children, obviously, so I poured myself a big bowl, filled with full cream milk (but thought I'd forgo the sugar!). The weetabix's were about an inch and a half in length ...
Advantages: Taste Disadvantages: not suitable for everyone
Weetabix has always been a favourite of mine and is one of only a couple of cereals that I can actually eat without adding any sweetener.
Weetabix are probably best known for their Wheat biscuit type cereal of which you have two or three, float in milk and then mash and eat-you know the sort?
Anyway Weetabix have progressed (okay it might have been a while ago). Along side the normal Weetabix on the shelf you’ll now find a range of other Weetabix style products, and this includes the topic of this opinion – Weetabixminicrunch with chocolate.
Each packet of Weetabixminicrunch with chocolate comes in a 500gram size, and cost around £1.19. There are other flavours available in this range including banana, honey and fruit and nut. The box is attractively designed in yellow and brown colour, with pictures of tiny ...
Advantages: A good source of fibre Disadvantages: An unusual texture
and a red heart that tells us that we are buying a healthy food product. Weetabix have given the product name a prominent place, so when you look at the carton this is the first thing you notice.
Much as I expected the Oatibix resemble the WeetabixMiniCrunch, but that is where the similarity ends.
Quite often I might stick my hand into the miniWeetabix and just munch one or two to stave off hunger pangs. I stuck my hand into the Oatibix packet without giving it any thought and popped one into my mouth.
OH Dear! those two words save saying anything else!
Instead of the light soft crunchy enjoyable texture of the WeetabixMini`s I had a conglomeration of wheat and oats whizzing around in my mouth.
The earlier vision of Oatibix that I had created was just not there!
Instead I was chewing a lump of dried oats which proved themselves ...
