It used to be that when I thought of weight watchers I thought of soups and savouries now thankfully you can enjoy a sweet treat and watch your calories at the same time, although to be honest there are better in the range than these particular cookies. The amount of weight watchers products available these days is quite unbelievable and during this review I will endeavour to let you know a bit, not only about the biscuits in question but weight watchers in general.
The weight watchers double chocolate chip cookies are the main topic of this review so where better to start.
The packaging. <<<<<<>>>>>> The outer packaging is a somewhat plain and unmemorable like most weight watchers products. It is mostly white with a blue portion at the very bottom and with pictures of what the cookies inside look like. The box is rectangular in shape and carries the nutritional information you would expect along with the points value as this is a weight watchers product and it also has the best before date on it obviously. The outer packaging is recyclable which in this day and age is a good thing.
The inner packaging consists of 6 plastic packs which each contain 2 cookies; the inner packaging does not contain the nutritional info but does carry the best before date which is useful should the outer packaging be thrown out. The fact that these cookies are wrapped in these individual portions means that even after the box is opened the cookies which remain will stay as fresh as the ones eaten straight away.
The cookies <<<<<>>>>> The cookies are around 4 to 5 cm in diameter and very, very thin and although they claim to be double chocolate chip cookies the chocolate chips are few and far between. They are a very light brownie gingery type colour and do not look all that appetising, they have a very dry and flaky appearance more like an oatcake biscuit than a chocolate chip cookie. Although they do not look very appetising they do smell fairly nice, again not too chocolaty more a sort of syrup / honey type scent but still nice. Once you take a bite you will see that there really isn’t very much to these cookies at all in fact they are almost see through, it seems there are a lot more air bubbles than there is cookie.
These cookies are suitable for vegetarian but not vegans and as they contain nut traces they are not suitable for people with nut allergies.
Nutritional info <<<<<<>>>>>> This is based on one portion (2 cookies) Kcal – 102 Protein – 1.1g Carbohydrates – 16g Fat – 3.8g
My opinion <<<<<>>>> Firstly let’s get one thing straight, I don’t do diets! I will sometimes choose a healthier option if one is available but only if they can compare to the full fat version and these cant. I found these cookies a bit strange to be honest, very sweet a strong taste of vanilla but not at all chocolaty. As I mention earlier in the cookie description there are very few chocolate chips and what chips there are in the cookies are so small you might miss them all together. They are also as you might expect very light but they are so light you will find that they just leave you wanting more which doesn’t help if dieting I wouldn’t imagine. They are very much a one bite and they are gone type of snack, I think I would have to eat the whole pack to satisfy my needs. I feel if you are on a diet or just watching your figure then if you go into these not expecting too much then you might find them ok, however if you go into these looking for a very tasty double chocolate chip cookie then you will be disappointed.
Price and availability <<<<<<<<>>>>>>>> Most decent size grocery stores stock these cookies and almost all supermarkets I would imagine. My test pack came from my local asda at the cost of 74p, my local cost cutter store also stocks these but at the higher price of 89p so shop around!
So now you have my view on the cookies you can either leave it there or carry on to learn a bit about weight watchers themselves.
Weight watchers <<<<<<<>>>>>>> Weight watchers is a company that offers dieting products as well as assistance in weight loss. Combine the weight loss plan with the use of weight watchers products and dieting can become easier; however it still requires lots of will power and self control and can also be expensive. Weight watchers operate in many countries around the world, around 30 actually and reports great success from all. If you join weight watchers they will put you on the plan they feel best suits your needs, either the core plan or the flex plan. Although different in many ways they both work on a points system and the points system is easier to follow if you choose to use weight watchers foods as they all have the amount of points they contain marked on their packaging.
From 1978 until 1999 weight watcher was owned by the H. J. Heinz Company, which continues to produce packaged foods bearing the Weight Watchers brand name (and with points values clearly identified). The company was acquired later in a leveraged buy out and went public in 2001; many different companies now produce weight watchers branded foods.
A selection of weight watchers products <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Heinz produce: soups, beans, spaghetti, pasta meals, tuna and a large range of frozen ready meals and deserts.
There are also many other products available including: bread, breakfast cereals, cheese and cheese spreads, crisps and savoury snacks, pasta sauces, pizzas and much, much more there is even a wine range although how good it will be I am not sure.
For more info on what is available refer to: www.weightwatchers.co.uk/food or call: Weight Watchers (UK) Ltd on 08457 123000.
To sum up on the cookies <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>> My over all opinion on these double chocolate chip cookies is that they were very poor in taste and in the ability to satisfy. If you are on a diet and willing to substitute taste for the good of your waist line then these will probably do the job. However if like me you like your chocolate cookies or biscuits to actually taste like chocolate then these I am afraid will disappoint and they probably will not satisfy like your favourite brand of cookies does.
I hope this review has been of some use to you as I went to all the bother of buying a pack of these just to enable me to write a thorough review.

When we think of "Weight watchers," we probably think of people who are trying to lose weight by eating gruesome distasteful food, those that fulfil never-ending exercise regimes and those that just don't eat (I don't suggest). You may even think to the Little Britain character Marjorie Dawes and her hilarious ''Fat fighters" ... ...also included the logo of Weight Watchers which makes us remember this when we go to buy more dietary food and the bold font of double choc chip cookies to really make it stand and easily readable from a distance.
On the sides of the boxes there is basically just a summary of all we have seen on the front, in less detail and less appealing. It really is just gap-filling. Then at the back the nutritional information is included, this is especially ...

...picking up a pack of Weight Watchers Double Chocolate Chip Cookies with the hope that I could nibble on these to ease the pain and still remain guilt free.
***Do they really taste good enough***
The first time I tried these, I would have thought toilet roll painted to look like a chocolate chip was bliss which was a good thing as these don’t taste too dissimilar to that. There is a (bitter) chocolaty taste to them, but it doesn’t linger like good ... ...There is no weight in these cookies at all. That is why they are considered a healthy alternative snack – they consist of lightly coated air with about one and a half chocolate chips per cookie just to fool you. Imagine what the SINGLE chocolate Chip Cookies would be like! As a comparison, I once bought my brother a bunch of freeze-dried astronaut food as a joke (I was 14 and it seemed funny at the time) before he went tree planting for the summer. ...
