After having my 2nd child I decided that I needed some "support" trying to shift a few stone.

I have used weight watchers before and I wasn't successful. This was purely down to me.I wasn't really motivated into losing weight at the time, and that pays an important factor in weight loss!!!!

This time my pregnancy weight hasn't shifted in the way I had hoped(nothing to do with eating rubbish all day long!!!)

So after various friends recommending WEIGHT WATCHERS again,I took the plunge.

After checking out Weightwatchers.co.uk to find my nearest meeting( you pop in your postcode and it comes up with all the meetings near you in miles)
along with the times they are on.
They vary in times, and I was quite pleased to see there was some in the evenings as well as during the day.
I was also sent a flyer from WEIGHT WATCHERS with a free joining fee coupon(usually about £9.00)so on my pushbike I went.

WEIGHT WATCHERS meetings are usually held in Halls ie church halls/community centres etc..

When there is an incentive on like free joining fee it is usually quite busy and you have to queue up.Feeling quite uneasy about this, someone always talks to you, after all your all in the same boat.

You are paraded past the tempting offerings WEIGHT WATCHERS have to offer ie sweets/choclate bars/slimming aids/cookery books etc
The you pay the fee which is currently £4.75..and then the moment of truth
WEIGH IN!!!!!!!!

After you have been weighed you are invited to have a seat and listen to the leader talk and motivate you for about half an hour...
My group is quite roudy and fun and lots of hints and tips are passed on...
So after about an hour your on your way home armed with motivation to keep you going for the next week, and not forgetting your "time to eat" booklet.

************SO HOW DO YOU SUCCEED********************

The WEIGHT WATCHERS programme is a lowfat healthy eating plan.
The idea is that you watch the fat content verses the calories.
WEIGHT WATCHERS have devised a point system,to make it easier, and depending on your starting weight you have to count points, up to about 20/22.

Things like vegtables and salad have no points, but for example a custard cream biscuit has 1 and a half..
Its a good idea to plan your menus(which is what I didnt do last time)
What I also like is that you can eat almost anything..as long as you count it
exercise earns you bonus points too(which is great for me,as an hours aqua areobics gives me 6 bonus points!)

SO IN A NUT SHELL...

FOR £4.75 you get a colourful bag to put your goodies in
A paper calculater( to work out your points)
A handbook(full of everything you need to know and a big section on pointed items, for quick and easy use)
A tracker( A 7 day diary, for you to record what you have eaten...use it!)
A weigh in
A half an hour informal chat
A seasonal booklet or card.
*******Other things you might like to know**********

For every 7lbs you lose you are awarded a silver 7(a silver sticker to go on your weigh in card)This is a good motivator..
If you lose 10% of your starting body weight you get a silver keyring
If you get to your goal weight you get a gold key award and also the chance to use weight watchers for free(as long as you stay at a healthy weight range)

The weight watchers website is full of uselful hints and tips and has an online shop, also a message board.
And you can also follow the plan online too.(If you cant get to meetings)
www.weightwatchers.co.uk

If your looking to lose weight, then maybe have a look at the website first and see if its for you.

GOOD LUCK

Ive joined the online WW, but dont have enough motivation to do it on my own. Am seriously considering going to the meetings, the only thing that puts me off is the price. Good luck with your weight loss x
