These past few months have been difficult for me. I chose to use Welcome Finance as someone had recommended them to me at this extremely difficult time. This credit crunch made it difficult for me to get a loan or anything of the sort under my current circumstances. When speaking to Welcome Finance i thought i had chosen the best around for the rates they were giving. When i recieved my quote i was more than happy with the outcome. £1000 loan, repayments at £96 a month for a 12 months. To say the least i was very happy with this quote and accepted them primarily. When i recieved the paper work through the post, the quote was far from what they had given me. A loan of £1000 with repayments at £103 for 24 months. I was shocked and appauled at this and immediatly called them. When i expressed my veiws on this, i was transferred to another representative and another and another. The professional outlook they had first shown had suddenly dissapeared and i ended up on hold for a good 20 minutes before being told that this was the best i would get form them at this time. The quote was unfair and the response was terrible. The loan was then cancelled and i have asked my details to be removed form the system. What seemed even worse, was the fact i had been put through to AXA via the loan company, who set up a direct debit to my account for £10 a month for a cashback plan which i really dont need. The service provided by Welcome Finance although professional to begin with, fell through quickly. It seems they lied through their teeth to get customers and then my details did not remain confidential. I was very dissapointed with the service and have been put off getting loans out over the internet and phone for life.

Although I would avoid them like the plague as i disagree with sub prime loans, etc, I worked for this company in the head office as a department trainer for 3 years and would like to point out that they dont have a tactic wherby they give you a better quote to draw you in. It is more likely that they was a system error or a criteria change as i know that as a growing company, they are always testing out new systems and this kind of thing happens maybe 3% of the time. They should have ideally advised you of this, but I will reassure you that you shouldnt be put off by going for a loan with any other companies because of this bad experience. Also, the insurance thing, you can actually cancel this within a certain amount of time and if you have read the small print like you are supposed to ;) you will know. Hope this helps
