Wella SP 3.0 Enrich Mask

I am a member of the lightspeed consumer panel - I have written a review about the site if you are interested - and do surveys on lots of different products and services.

After finishing a recent survey about which shampoo and conditioner I used I was asked at the end of it whether they could send me a free sample of some new products. The idea was that I would try the products and then they would ask me to complete a second survey to give my opinion.

Could they indeed? I should think so! If it's free count me in, especially these days!

The items that arrived in the post within a couple of days were Wella SP 1.2 Repair Shampoo and Wella SP 3.0 Enrich Mask. I have already reviewed the shampoo so now I shall tell you about the conditioner.

As with the shampoo the most striking thing about the packaging is that is it square - this time it is pretty much a cube in shape and is about 7cm in every direction and again it looks really classy! The whole thing is plain cream so no bright colours here. The Wella logo appears in black at the top left with 'SP Salon Professional' in gold letters underneath. On the right hand side we have 'Enrich Mask' in gold letters at the top and then 'for unruly hair' in various languages again in black. At the bottom there are the numbers 3.0 and from what I can see each product bears a different number. I still haven't worked out what they represent yet though!

So you can see that this, along with the shampoo, is going to look very smart on your bathroom shelf.

To open the pot you just have to twist the top and off it comes revealing a further lid of a plastic disc to keep the cream inside the pot and not getting the inside of the lid all messy.

The conditioner itself is a very thick cream - so thick that if you were to turn the open pot upside down none of the conditioner would come out.

To find the instructions for use you have to peel back the label found on the reverse of the container to reveal the writing underneath. You just have to massage the conditioner into pre washed hair, for best results washed with Wella Repair Shampoo. The conditioner should be left in the hair for five minutes and then rinsed out thoroughly.

Anyway I got into the shower and washed my hair with the free shampoo, which was very nice, and then opened the conditioner pot. I dipped my fingers into the thick creamy contents and fetched out a generous amount. I massaged it into my hair and, as with the shampoo, it smelled lovely. I'm afraid I can't describe it very well. It is flowery but not too sweet; in fact it reminded me of that smell you get in the hairdressers. Anyway it is enough to say that it was lovely.

As I massaged it into my hair it felt really nice even at that stage. Often I don't really feel much of an effect as I put conditioner onto my hair but this one is different. It is so smooth and creamy I could feel the effects on my hair straight away.

I left it on for round about five minutes while I had my shower. This was a bit difficult for me as I am used to jumping into the shower, getting washed and getting out - I wouldn't dream of spending five minutes in the shower! Anyway after the time had elapsed I rinsed the conditioner out of my hair. It rinsed out easily and thoroughly so that was another plus for the product.

I then towel dried my hair and blow dried it in my usual way. My hair felt wonderful - it was really soft but still manageable. The softness lasted too. The shampoo and conditioner used together are supposed to be a daily repair treatment but I wouldn't wash my hair every day as I don't think it would do it any good so I have just continued to wash mine every few days us normal. The softness lasted between shampoos and even hubby commented on how nice it looked, felt and smelled!

I had never seen this conditioner on sale anywhere before I received this sample so I had to look on the Internet to find out how much it costs and it isn't cheap. The 200ml container that I have would cost me about £12 in the shops which is more than I would normally pay for conditioner. The shampoo was £8 so the two together would set you back £20; you can see I trained as an accountant can't you? LOL!

To be fair this is a lot more than I would normally pay for shampoo and conditioner but having said that I was so impressed with these products I may well treat myself when I have finished my free samples.
