Advantages Advantages Can really hold it's shape if used correctly.

This review is wrong already because it's now called "Xtrovert Rough 'N' Ready Clay" and comes in a kind of bile yellow tub, and strangely costs about 30% more than it used to. It's not what you expect, it's got an unusual smell and a very weird texture like gloopy clay (halfway inbetween wax and cream). This product is truly a miracle though. I started using it about 3 years ago and despite trying out numerous cheaper alternatives I can say in all honesty I haven't found anything that does the job as well as this. Being a female with short hair I need it to stay spikey pretty much all day ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent hold (even on longer hair), nice smell, can use on dry hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages Package size too small, not great value for money, can be flaky/gummy

---Introduction--- I have been using product on my hair for about 10 years or so now and always used to be a fan of max hold gel, used in conjunction with a hair dryer. However, whilst living overseas (Oz) I stumbled across Wella Shockwaves creative clay, in a good sized blue tub and started to use that. On coming back to the UK I tried to find this but discovered that it was sold as Xtrovert Rough n Ready clay and packaged differently. The Australian version may be what was originally marketed in the UK too and this is what may have led to the confusion mentioned in some of the previous ... more

Advantages Advantages Holds even the most extreme styles for hours

Disadvantages Disadvantages Should be more in a tub, leaves unsightly white "clumps" if used incorrectly

Like most students, I have a firm belief that having a hair cut is an expensive and time consuming ordeal, best left until it is no longer humanly possible to get away with it. This generates three major problems: 1 - Excessive hair growth, leading to a kind of "Cousin It" appearance, not particularly attractive 2- Impairment of vision and general sweatyness. 3- Ridicule due to reason (1). As a result, it is necessary to find hair products that will allow me to eradicate as many of these as possible. Having a spiky hairstyle, I have gravity to compete with on a daily basis, and after trying ... more

    Advantages Advantages Everything about it

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be hard to get hold of

I stumbled across this stuff completely by accident to be honest, as I was cruising the hair care aisles in Tesco. This little blue 75ml tub labelled 'Ultra Strong Creative Clay' waved at me from the shelf and encouraged me to go and have a closer look. I took the lid off to have a look and noticed that it was like nothing I've ever used before. Rather than being a gel or a gum, it really does have a clay like, grey texture, and a nice smell which reminds me of a cross between sun tan lotion and emulsion paint (a good thing, in my opinion). "Hello, little tub," I said, and took it home. It ... more

Advantages Advantages excellent hold that lasts until you put you wash out

Disadvantages Disadvantages makes a mess of car head rests! not waterproof, expensive

We all know that style is a big part in all our lives! More and more men now spend hours doing there hair and we can never get it quite right! Well we can now!! its the best styling product for hair which i have ever used. You can create any style you want, i find it brilliant for a messy style and spikes which will not fall out of place! (if you are that picky its the best) I recommened using as follows. get a decent finger load and rub into the palms of your hands drying the clay like product slightly, then apply to the hair in desired area. Style away but dont rework the same area over and ... more
