Western Digital Caviar SE WD2000JS 200 GB

Advantages: Great Reliable Drive which runs well.
Disadvantages: I have yet to find any real disadvantages with this drive.

...I keep going back to western digital because after buying harddrives from several manufacturers i have found this to be the best, this particualar drive offers great speed and space and great reliability. you always hear of peoples hard drives dying but i have had many western digitals and never had a problem with them. i think they are great drives and i would definatley recommend them to anyone after a reliable, reasonably fast and reasonably large drive. I had no problems installing it and find it very compatible with my hardware. While using this drive i haven not come across any problems. No faliure no slow running its been great. Very easy installation. Anyone looking for a well priced good drive, this is for you.... Read review

Advantages: Extreamly large (though in most cases unnessecery) disk space, fast!
Disadvantages: Practicality

...Okay wow 250 Gigabytes of hard disk space sounds extreamly useful and probably makes you want to buy it with out considering other factors (for me anyway..) but when you look at it you have to ask your self "How am I going to make use of all this space?" and even if you some how manage to answer that question you will have to apriechate how long it will take you to format, defrag and check for errors (despite the very fast file transfer speeds). Now there are a lot of posible disadvantages to buying such a capacity of HD storage space for the average computer user, But if your part of a buisness (home or otherwise) then this would be an ideal solution to ensure you won't ever run out of space to store important documents, programs and other nessecery examples. So my final advice would be to only purchace this if you are in REAL need... Read review

Advantages: Fast, Cheap,Reliable
Disadvantages: a little hot, a little noisy

...As a computer geek I used many Hard Drives drives until this one and I'm finally satisfied. As a multitasking user i open many programs at the same time: antivirus, internet, multiple downloads, winamp and even gaming at the same time and often I even game sometimes and this hdd really does a good job. The 320GB (290 Gb actually) are sufficient for storage and comes at a very decent price. The wd hard drives are really reliable, not a single problem until now in 2 months of usage. The transfer rates are insane: 80 Mb max at data read and 75 Mb max at data write, about 13 ms access time. The temperatures are pretty hot in summer, I recommend cooler. It is a little noisy but are far more noisier hard drives on the market Stability: 4 full days of massive downloads, in summer is enough for you?! Overall: great hdd drive... Read review
