Been Raiding for years
Advantages It's worked hard and reliably for a long time.
Disadvantages I cant find another!
I got this almost 10 years ago to learn to play and immediately join a band, it was my first bass guitar after a year of playing a classical guitar.
It is an odd shape, similar to the Gibson Explorer which is what attracted me to it. It cost about £70 which was a bargain, especially for a cash strapped student like I was at the time. It plays nicely, I've put thick gauge strings on it which gives a nicer sound and also allows you to drop the action a bit making it easier to play. The sound has been improved a lot by me fitting EMG P bass pickups to it which actually cost more than the bass itself! The only problem I've had with it is the E or first string always sounded a bit "wooly". Its a bit head stock heavy and if you let go of it the head stock end dives toward the ground, this usually stops after you wack something hard then you tend to keep hold of it! Its been abused, chucked in the back of vans and giged loads of times, considering it was bought second hand, never had a case or gig bag and used hard for 10 years its impressive that it has never even hinted at letting me down.
I will never willingly part with this bass and if I ever see one in a second hand shop I'll go straight in and buy it.
