As I recently had a small win on a bet I do each week on the Irish lottery it made me think about what I would do if I had a whopping great win on the national lottery; millions, in fact.     Advantages Advantages none really, but true and only tongue in cheek (in parts).

    Here comes the first ball On Wednesday July 11th 2007 I won the 2nd prize in the lottery. The slight drawback was that although I had cash on me, the nearest shop was too far away so I never bought the ticket. Actually, I was just too lazy to walk there and 'I never win anyway' ! With my council tax due out the next day by direct debit, I couldn't play my numbers online without paying some money in.. ..and the banks had shut for the day.     Put your hands up if you have ever day-dreamed about what you would do if you won the lottery. Those of you that didn't put your hands up read the first line again and then put your hands up. Yes I reckon nearly all of us have had the dream at one time or other. So let us set the scene for my big win.     Well I have always been a strong believer in that money can't buy you the main things in life like love and happiness and having money just causes arguments and jealousy. The difference is once you have won the lottery I bet the people who you haven't spoke to for a while come knocking at your door pretending to be your best friend or having a sick relative with not long to live. If anyone ever did that to me I wouldn't be too happy. Winning the lottery though would be heaven even if it was just £10 you know how hard times can be at the moment and I am sure that's why a few of us are on here ... more

    What would I do if I won the lottery? Well, the very first thing I’d do would be to spend some money! A few years ago I bought a pair of beautiful navy slingback shoes to wear to my niece’s wedding in Australia. This was in 2008, and since then they have been languishing in their box in my wardrobe. I got them out the other day to take another look (as you do), and decided I must wear them again as they are so bloomin’ beautiful!
