Review of What's On TV Magazine by emilyo

Advantages: Cheap, great on soaps, easy to follow listings.
Disadvantages: Not so great on sport, movies or Sky.

"What’s On T.V." has been my preferred TV listings mag for years. I still remember when you didn’t have a selection to choose from and Radio Times had the monopoly on TV. Nowadays we have a huge selection of television magazines to choose from, each aiming at a different market. I don’t think we really watch too much television in our house; we tend to watch more soaps then anything else. This is why "What’s On T.V." suits us down to the ground! ...
...sneaky-peaks at upcoming story lines and enough of a taste of what is to come without actually spoiling them. "What’s On T.V." is available to buy on Tuesday of every week, for the week starting on Saturday, for the cracking price of 45p. On the cover it claims to be “value packed” and I've never had reason to doubt this. The magazine stays in the same format each week and it is very easy to follow and find what you want. The cover of "W.O.T" is ... Read review

Yipee another storyline revealed
Review of What's On TV Magazine by whitbybunny

Advantages: Bang of to date on breaking storys
Disadvantages: Minimum od 21 pages of advertising

That’s another storyline revealed! Great Soap – Great Puzzles – Great Value This is how ‘What’s on TV’ magazine sells itself. I’m a regular reader of ‘Inside Soap’ and each fortnight that magazine makes it’s way around my family, spilling out the storylines that will hit our screens in the next two weeks. I expect the men reading this (and some women) will think to themselves ‘Why ...
...that says the same things’ – Boredom is the answer! Whilst browsing the shelves at the newsagents two magazines caught my eye and both were about TV shows. One was this magazine and the other was TV Quick. I purchased them both but was more impressed with ‘What’s on TV’ - hence this review. Although I’m a browser I do not stand in shops endlessly flicking through mags before I buy them. I am an impulse buyer and ... Read review

Soap, Drama, and Competition
Review of What's On TV Magazine by wiggglypufff

Advantages: Cheap, interesting articles
Disadvantages: Small print, loads of adverts

As the name would suggest, What’s On TV is a magazine guide to TV scheduling for the week. At just 42p, and with around 80 pages, it is one of the best value for money weekly guides around. Boasting on the front cover of being Britain’s best-selling magazine, I cannot verify this, but can well imagine it to be true. The front cover usually features characters involved in a current or forthcoming major storyline of a popular soap. You’ll ...
...this, you’ll get an idea of some of the magazine’s features for the week. Inside the cover you’ll inevitably find an advert, on the next page, the contents. Listed down the left hand side of the page, you can easily find the page numbers to guide you to exactly what you want...... TV, Satellite & Radio Listings ~ speaks for itself really, and is the main purpose of the magazine. You’ll find 3 double spread pages for each ... Read review
