When I was younger I was forever seeing books about Where's Wally. The idea behind the book was to find this character Wally and he would be hidden away in a picture mixed with many other images of characters and buildings.
The idea was that when you found him you advanced to another puzzle in the book until you had finished. This is how the format goes for this iPhone application.
You download the game from the app store which can take a while for some reason even though the game is not a huge file. You get to use an alias character as a username and then you begin on one of the levels.
You need to look for Wally but also his friends the Wizard and Wenda. Once those characters have been located you then are told to look for specific items. The game will show you a small picture perhaps of a man throwing fire balls and you need to search the picture to find this person and click onto them.
You usually get around 10 extra items to find and once you have you have finished the level providing you did the level in time. This game does not use a clock to measure speed but stars.
When you begin each level the stars you have are 5 and the power decreases out of them until they reach down to zero. However, finding items installs extra power into them and in order to complete a level you need to get at least 3 stars at the end.
The game is done in a great way because you would assume that the picture would be small and boring but the picture is huge. You have to try and look around as much as you can but the picture takes up many screens so you need to slide your finger from one screen to the next to find out where items are.
If you find any bones they give you hints but to be honest the hints are tough. One level you have 2 hints given for free to use if your stuck on a particular person to find but on other levels they are not there.
Levels begin easily but they increase in difficulty the further you advance and the speed of the games timer also increase to zero much quicker. You do have problems with an enemy of Wally which is named Odlaw and he will show up in his yellow and black outfit and you need to find him if he pops up on the screen because he can alter your progress.
The game was only 59p for me and so far I have completed 24 levels and I know there is a few more left but struggling at the moment with the difficult in one of the levels. The game is fantastic in how they hide items because the most obvious items are usually the ones you miss the most.
If you fail to complete a level due to the amount of stars you had at the end you can repeat a level but items move especially the main three characters. This to me is great because otherwise the object of the game would be pointless and makes it much easier to complete.
I think the speed is terrific and the help the game gives is great and the format each level remaining the same is very good as well. You encounter different time periods with each level such as monsters and vikings and even mermaids and underwater adventures.
Overall this game was great for the price but I am certain it has increased to over £1 recently but this is plenty of fun. I have had the game for over a month but never had an update yet so in terms of any potential updates I doubt
