Where the Heart Is

I have watched “Where the Heart Is” from the very first episode, and after watching the last in the present series, I have decided to write an Op on it. When it first started I wasn’t sure whether I would want to watch but, coming from a small village, I found that I really ... Read review

My heart is here

Advantages: Each episode has it's own story line, but also follows on from the previous week
Disadvantages: Series are too short

...sticks in my mind is where Sister Peggy Snow, (played by Pam Ferris) who had been a nurse in the village for quite some time, had taken a “desk job” promotion out of the village and had decided to take her daughter, Lucy, with her for the first day to show Lucy that she would still be helping people.

On the way, Peggy had an accident and crashed the car, she was killed and Lucy was injured. I’ll never forget the scenes ...
...they had to turn off the life support. I admit I balled my eyes out.

There have also been a number of babies in the series, Peggy & Vic Snow’s son Steven and his girlfriend had a baby, as did a teenage patient of the medical centre, on last sundays episode Anna, the new Sister of the medical centre had her baby in the local pub, when a prolonged storm blocked the roads in and out of the village. This week another baby appeared ... more

Advantages: very moving
Disadvantages: Only on once a week.

Where The Heart Is , is a great drama set in the small town of Skethwaite. It features quite a few named characters. and has quite an addictive theme tune.I find myself humming form time to time. (stop sniggering!!) Its set mainly around the Distict Nurses and their family and friends plus the factory and pub.(Theres always a Watering hole!!) The Latest Episode was called Faith and was written by Adrian Mead. It's about a boy called Robbie Callaghan ...
...healer called Sandy Wilson (Clive Russell) can heal him better than the Nurses. His Mum (Samatha Beckindale) does'nt know what to belive!! She vists the surgery telling them that her son no longer wants the Nurses to treat him .This is after Robbie knocked some tablets out of Anna's (Lesley Dunlop) hand. Meanwhile Henry (Andrew Knott) is still off sick from work, after having his finger cut off at work. He's playing up his symtoms a bit on his ex ...

A series to warm your Heart

Advantages: Warm hearted
Disadvantages: None

This is an excellent drama series that I think is fairly underrated compared to similar series on television. A new series began on Sunday (22/04) and will be on ITV every Sunday at 8pm for an hour for the next few months. Based in the fictional village of Skelthwaite in Yorkshire, the story follows the lives of the villagers namely the staff of the local health centre and their families. Staff Nurse Karen Buckley and Sister Anna Kirkwall (played ...
...Barnsley. Karen is married to David (Phil Middlemiss- Des from Corrie!) with a teenage daughter Jess and Anna is widowed with a son. She is dating Simon Goddard (Thomas Craig) a local factory boss whose late sister (Peggy) was the old district nurse. Her surviving husband (Vic Snow), son (Stephen) and daughter-in-law (Jacqui, who works at the health centre as well) are also main characters in the series. Vic and David work at Simon's factory and ...

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

This has to be the sweetest drama ever. Whenever I watch this one I often feel like crying – it just seems to really touch my heart unlike so many shows which you sit and laugh at the stupid actions of the characters. This one is really good – in the aspect it deals with so many issues which concern a small country community. In many aspects you would never imagine so many incidents can happen in one small community – they seemed to have covered ...

PCHome Magazine - is it where the heart is?

Advantages: Keeps you up to date with the latest PC info
Disadvantages: So does the internet

to great freeware sites like NONAGS and obtain any amount of utilities and free games. To the extent that reading the information from a magazine is a different experience to going to check out Tomshardware.com, I think this is still quite a nice read. There is no particular specialist focus such as games or programming. It seeks to inform the general public about general developments and issues. There may be an article about tweaks in XP, for example, or a page or two given over to the delights of Linux or Visual Basic. For someone quite new to the world of computing, PCHome would be quite a friendly and well-written companion. For more experienced users of computers then there is more fun to be had at such places as dansdata.com, and more information and downloadable freeware to be found online generally than this or any ...

Home is where the heart fm is

Advantages: Good music
Disadvantages: Adverts

Heart fm, my local radio station... The one I wake up and then fall back asleep to. I was a tad surprised to find it on the net whilst doing one of my general pottering sessions around various sites. I have to admit its a very well designed site. The purple background sets off everything else very well and the stability of the broadcast is fab (although it is ususally about 30seconds lagging behind the original one, yes I tested it!) The only thing I find slightly annoying is the number of adverts that they play day after day but, I suppose it has to be expected of a commercial station... over all a truly great place to listen whilst surfing. ...

holby

Advantages: its great
Disadvantages: n/a

Being a huge Casualty Fan and in 1999 when they created a spinoff of the show, Holby City with a great cast the programme was obviously going to be great. Holby City is based in Holby hospital where casualty have the A and E Department, Holby City is on two wings Darwin and Kellar and follow heart surgeons and general theatre. The first series in 1999 has Michael French, Angela Griffin but to name a few. Anton Mayer was the arrogant consultant who although he was arrogant was a loveable character and because of his great lines he was loved. As the years progressed there were names like Jeremy Sheffield, Jeremy Edwards, Mark Moraghan, Lisa Faulkner and Art Malik. In the current series almost 10 years on which it is still going on stars Adrian Edmondson plays Abra Tina Hobley plays Chrissie Paul Bradley plays Elliott Patsy ...
