Last week my old tumble dryer decided to die , so I started to have a look in the shops and on the internet for a new one. There is such a big range of tumble dryers around that it was very hard to decide on which one to go for but eventually I went for this Whirpool as it looked easy to use.

This dryer has a large 6kg capacity which is great as I can get a full load of washing dried in one go.

It has a rectangular door which opens out wide and makes loading and unloading so much easier. The direction of the door can be changed to allow opening from left to right instead of right to left.

On the front of the machine you will find a Start and Gentle button and also a large dial which you use to set the programme that you want , the are 4 programmes - Airing , Cupboard Dry , Iron - dry and Ready to Wear. There is also an automatic anti-crease and a filter full alert which lights up red when full.

The dryer has a reverse spin which means it turns one way , pauses and then turns the other way which makes the clothes dry quicker.

To use the machine just place the clothes in the dryer , close the door and turn the dial till you get to the programme that you want then press the start button.

This dryer is basic but it does the job well , it is rear vented and has an energy efficiency C rating which is not brilliant but a lot of the other dryers I had looked at had a D rating .I think the dryer is quite quiet compared to other dryers.

I paid £164.97 on Tesco direct but if you look around you can get it for around £150.

Just a quick update - the one thing I have noticed with this dryer is it eats up electric so just a warning for anyone who is looking to buy a dryer.
