Well, I thought it was too good to be true! Got my Whirlpool on 27/3/07 after seeing a Whirlpool Dishwasher that a friend had been given. It was in great nick, about 16 years old; it looked and felt very solidly built. So, when my existing tumble dryer gave up the ghost I thought I'd try a Whirlpool. I'm a Tumble Dryer Expert - name the brand, I've had them all! They all lasted no more than 2 years so I was getting a bit fed up. 2 weeks ago my Whirlpool timer control started to seize up. It was getting almost impossible to turn, but it still worked. Continued to dry the clothes a treat. It's the first condenser dryer I've had and it seems as good as I expected. Now, the Whirlpool engineer is coming to look at it on Monday, between 1 and 6pm they say. Just watch this space!

At £190 it was a market leading price, and covered by a 1 year ASDA guarantee. I will shortly be using that guarantee to return it for a swap-out because the appliance has become very noisy indeed - a loud grumbling sound accompanies operation when the dryer is running.
The other complaint I had was that the manual is far too slim on information - it doesnt mention the purpose of the Gentle button at all, and I'm still not 100% sure that this means "low heat"
Additionally the manual covers 2 models, one with a top mounted water bottle ...
