My name is Florence, and I am a very important and loved member of my household. Other cats have come and gone in the past, but, at thirteen years old, I just keep on going.
After so many years of fun and excitement in my life, I have had to have some of my teeth removed and so now I am quite gummy. I was thinking about ‘a pair of falsies’ but decided against it – only joking!
I am quite the lady of leisure and do not do a great deal now apart from sleeping, an occasional stroll around the garden eyeing up the birds, and eating my favourite foods.
As I have got older and am not so energetic, my eating habits have changed quite a lot. I used to eat whole tins of Whiskas in a day and my mistress was forever going to the shop to stock up. But now, all I want to eat is a tasty treat twice a day.
My mistress got the message and realised this when she seemed to be throwing half-eaten cans of cat food away everyday.
So what could she tempt me with? I know that she has scoured the shelves and I have tried out other makes of cat food until we discovered Whiskas in a foil packet. These are individual portions for me to enjoy. Tasty morsels, which keep fresh for days and even weeks in their super-sealed, foil bags.
My mistress thought that I should give them a try and so she bought a box of 12 individual portions for 2.99 from the Co-Op. She thought that she could not go wrong with these and at least if I did not like them, she had not wasted whole tins.
My mistress showed me the box, which I must admit I was not very interested in, more of what was inside it!
The packets inside are quite well presented for a cat food. The packet is made from strong silver-coloured foil and it has a purple shaped rectangle with a lovely photograph of a cat looking up at you. Nice looking cat, I thought! The words underneath the picture I cannot read, so my mistress read them to me. She said that printed in white letters was the word –Whiskas’ and underneath that is the word ‘life care’ written in purple on a yellow background. At the top of the packet are the words’ with White Fish’ and on the side, printed in black is the word ‘Senior’ – cats over 8 years of age. I don’t know if I like being called a ‘Senior’!
(“I am glad that my cat cannot read because she may not like being called a ‘Senior’ even though she is now 78 years old in our ages!”) said my mistress to the neighbour next door.
On the back of the packet are the instructions of how to open the sealed unit and how to empty the food into the cat’s bowl, so my mistress has got no excuses for getting it wrong! The packet also states that Whiskas cat food is the ‘Complete Pet Food For Adult Cats’. That sounds good to me.
So this Whiskas Special Food Parcel could be just what I need for a happy and healthy life? I will have to wait and see! That attractive ginger cat across the road had better watch out then!
After my mistress and I had spent ten minutes looking at the packaging and foil packets, I was getting a little fed-up waiting for this tasty treat that she had promised me. I reminded her of my existence by ‘meowing’ loudly. And I looked up at her with my trusting eyes as she took a foil packet out of the box. I was thinking ‘Oh Dear! What is she giving me tonight?’.
Anyway, she took the foil package in one hand and proceeded to follow the opening instructions on the back of the packet. She took hold of one corner where there are red arrows and pulled across the top of the bag. An awful smell hit her nose and all I thought at that moment was ‘thank goodness she is not a cat’!
The bag tore easily but she did get a little of the juice on her hand – Yuk! She then placed the food into my favourite dish and I took a sniff and then walked away! I did not feel like eating at that time.
My mistress was thinking after all of this effort on her part, was I not going to eat it? I must admit it did look very appertising to me and I was very pleased that I was doing the taste test for my mistress.
But, after a little enticement and encouragement, she persuaded me to come back and I began sniffing this oblong-shaped blob of small lumps in jelly lying in my bowl. The cat food was a pale brown colour and because it is the Senior variety, it does not contain any vegetables as the Adult Range does. Just lovely, juicy meat or fish!
Eventually, I did start to eat – I can be very fussy and difficult sometimes, as all cats can, and for the purposes of her review, she wanted an instant reaction from me. The small pieces of meat were soft and easy for me to pick up with my few teeth. I could swallow them easily and they soon filled me up. The only problem was that after my meal, my breath smelt a bit!
Anyway, you will be pleased to know that I did enjoy my meal and could I have some more please? Hurrah! My mistress, cried!
She then told me about other tasty dishes in the box to delight and entice me are: - With Rabbit and With Lamb – yummy!
Whiskas do make other combination boxes of fish and meat varieties in boxes of 12 or now you can get double packs if you have two cats.
My mistress says that they are very useful because you only get one portion in the bag and therefore, do not waste any. They probably work out more expensive than the tins of cat food, but, for convenience and ease, they can be worthwhile buying. Also, you do not have any half-empty smelly cat food tins lurking in the kitchen!
I think that my owner, Karen, and Whiskas Foil Pouches are going to have a very happy and long life together! With me of course!
...guess is the same as Whiskas Singles, hence posting here. Basically, what you get is a single-meal-sized pouch weighing in at 100g, filled with little bite-sized bits of meat, and jelly or gravy to keep it moist. My ladies tend to lap up all the jelly/gravy first but unlike some other brands I’ve tried this doesn’t mean that the meaty bits dry up instantly, which is always a good thing. The pouches come in various flavours and jelly/gravy ... ...Jelly selection pack that contains 6 each of Chicken, Trout & Salmon, Beef, and Rabbit & Chicken, and seem to be quite happy. Selection packs are also available in 12 pack combos and are themed, for example, Favourites, Poulty, Meat, Fish etc… This is the first time I’ve splashed out on a 24 pack because the 12 pack ones are quite often on a 3 for 2 offer in various supermarkets so I just buy them. The meaty bits are smaller than you ...

...catfood.
I started on Whiskas singles because they were on a 3-for-3 offer at Safeways. Pretty soon, we noticed an improvement in the way Wilfred was eating. The pouches seemed to be just a nice size for a portion, and we noticed that the vast majority of the food that he left was from the second or third helping out of a tin. Seems it's not just humans that appreciate the qualities of fresh food.
Now I am a great fan of these pouches. The packaging ... ...in this brand, although in Whiskas large tins and other brands he will just lick the gravy off and leave the disgusting meat sticking to the bowl. I do think that maybe I should have been more strict with him about eating in the beginning, but I did try leaving the same food down for a whole day for him to finish, and never had any luck with this approach. Who knows, maybe somebody else tried the same thing and caused him to leave home! Certainly ...

Advantages: Individual servings - no waste Disadvantages: none
...tell you all about New Whiskas Oh So Fishy, it is a new single serving sachet of food from the famous Whiskas people.
I do like fish I must confess, these new sachets are really nice for me because I can eat one at one sitting, (not that I am a greedy girl, I eat just enough to maintain my figure!) My master says that it saves having uneaten cat food laying around the house, and ensures that I always get nice fresh food.
Packaging: These sachets ... ...the same pink labelling with Whiskas Oh so Fishy all over, and a picture of a rather attractive looking tabby cat on it, -I would like to know if it was a boy or a girl cat - anyway must stick to the subject musn't I?
Smell: There is a very strong fishy smell, (my master says its a bit overpowering, but it is exactly as it says on the box - it is really oh so fishy)!! Actually it smells just like the tins of salmon and tuna that old paisleyman eats, ...

Whiskas is infamously delicious, (for cats, no I haven't done the taste test!) However, as with most cats, mine are fussy gits, and when you've spent money on a food you think they have finally decided they like, they would suddenly turn their noses up at it. They never did this with the Whiskas pouches. Once we realised they didn't like the beef and weren't too keen on the gravy variety, we settled on the poultry and fish ... ...I will tell you that pouches come in an absolute array of flavours- beef, various fish, chicken, duck, turkey, rabbit and combinations of these in either jelly or gravy. I think they all smell delicious, I don't know what that says about me...
So why shouldn't I rush out now and stock up with these pouches? I hear cat lovers crying throughout the world...well here's the thing.
a) they're quite expensive for the amount of meat you get. When I used ...

Advantages: smaller pieces loads of flavours, dont waste Disadvantages: can be pricey alternative
...free trial sample packs of whiskas singles, I had previously tried these on my other cat and he just turned his nose up like they do.
I tried my new additions on these pouches.
They are individual servings, in a huge variety of flavours, just enough for one main meal though i usually split the pack into two bowls, so they eat all of it and none goes to waste.
Unlike tins which can go off unless you put lids on and then in the fridge, but thats ... ...99p.
The meat inside is whiskas but it is smaller bite size pieces which my smaller cats like, it is easier to eat.
They do them in the jelly or gravy, though i find my cats lick off all the gravy first then leave the meat to go dry!!
I have tried about every kind of tinned food with my cats and my two little ones harry and loulou give these the paws up :) ...

Advantages: Cats love it, Meaty, Good value. Disadvantages: none
said my cats always run for food as soon as you open the tin. I am sure they love the taste as they will not eat any other cat food now. ( personnally I wish they would).
Value for money.
The cost of a single tin of whiskas starts from 59p to 75p depending on where you buy. I buy a 12 pack of mixed in jelly at Asda and these cost me £5.98 although they are widely available at all supermarkets and local food shops. There is also a 6 pack at a cost of £2.98 at Asda.
I consider this to be good value because my cats don't waste any.
Flavours.
There are a large variety of flavours available and just to mention a few:
Chicken
Beef
Salmon
Duck and Heart.
Pilchard.
I must say there are many more but too many to mention.
In Conclusion.
The very fact that my cats waste nothing and seem to enjoy this food is good enough reason ...

Both my cats love milk, and on a few occasions I have caught them licking the left over milk out of the cereal bowls. Cow's milk is actually quite bad for cats and kittens because it doesn't have any of the vitamins and minerals in it which cats need to obtain a healthy diet. Cow's milk contains lactose and many cats are lactose intolerant, so if you allow your cat to drink cow's milk then this will give them the squirts.
Most of the vitamins and minerals a cat or kitten needs to be healthy are obtained from their food, whether it's a dry food or a wet food you feed them with. Because my cats love milk, I bought them Whiskas Cat Milk from Tesco's, which only costs 48p for a 200ml bottle.
Whiskas cat milk can either be bought in single bottles or you can buy a multi pack which costs £1.28 and contains three bottles of cat milk ...
Advantages: Happy Kitties Disadvantages: Expensive compared to some!
knows, a cat being sick is not peasant.
I do go through a fair bit in a month with having the two cats, so multipacks win for me every time, they offer a variety of flavours, not just one, well I wouldn’t like to eat the same thing day in, day out, would you?
