Whiskas has always been seen as my cats’ favourite brand - it really doesn’t matter what you ’choose’ to feed your cat, if they don’t like it then it goes uneaten. Far better to buy what your cat ’tells’ you to buy and have no waste! Don’t get me wrong, they will eat other brands - Kitekat is a good second choice! Chloe and Kizzi are brother and sister and are 9½ years old. Technically speaking - they are Seniors now in the cat world, which means they can be expected to be less active. This could not be further from reality with these two and they are still livewires who show no signs of hanging up their catnip toys just yet!
Shopping for cat food is a painstaking business. Cats are notoriously fussy eaters, whose whims and fancies change like the wind. One week could see them relishing a gravy based tinned food, whilst the next will see them turn their little pink noses up in disgust at the very same meal. Cats vote with their feet, and will simply walk away from the bowl and offer you filthy looks until it is filled with something else. I appreciate that I myself would not like to eat the same meal everyday, and make the effort to get a variety of flavours whilst doing a shop. A couple of days ago, I bought some of those individual pouches and popped a chicken one in Chloe’s bowl and a Beef one in Kizzi’s. No sooner had I put the bowls down, they looked up, sniffed each other’s bowl and changed places! Fussy or what!
Getting back to my review though …
Whiskas has always been seen as my cats’ favourite brand - it really doesn’t matter what you ’choose’ to feed your cat, if they don’t like it then it goes uneaten. Far better to buy what your cat ’tells’ you to buy and have no waste! Don’t get me wrong, they will eat other brands - Kitekat is a good second choice! But, overall you can see that they love Whiskas.
At the moment, they (who will be obeyed) have gone off tinned food for now and are enjoying a bit of dry food.
Whiskas products look distinctive on the shelves, with their purple coloured packaging and famous ‘silver’ cat gracing all of their product range. The dry cat food they have comes in bag form - with a glossy waxy finish to the bag, they do stand apart from the boxes of other dry food on offer. The bowl of cat biscuits - or nuggets, as Whiskas prefer to call them shown on the packaging look wholesome and are accompanied by a selection of fresh vegetables, emphasising the fact that there is some vegetables present in there (well, extracts!).
What I really like about these bags, is that they are contained in a ‘resealable fresh pack’ - basically once you have snipped this open it can be popped back together again at the seal so they won’t dry up and lose their freshness. This tends to happen with the boxes, once you open the cardboard although you can fit the cardboard flap back in place - it won’t be airtight.
Opening up the bag you will get a fairly pleasant whiff of meatiness - not unlike a packet of Bovril crisps. By this point, our two will be jumping excitedly around my ankles trying to get to these nuggets and miaowing hungrily! Some boxes of biscuits - especially the cheaper brands, do not smell very appetising and look less than wholesome.
The nuggets themselves are a good bit smaller than I expected after looking at the photo on the packaging, but this matters none when I know how much they both love them. The nuggets vary in colour from green and orange to a majority of browns. I assume the lighter ones are supposed to be vegetable flavour? A quick read of the ingredients tells me that the green ones are in fact pea flavour, the orange is carrot, lights brown is chicken and dark brown is ’meaty’. Silly me. There looks to be plenty of essential vitamins packed into these, I won’t go into specifics but the breakdown is clearly given on the side of the bag.
The Whiskas website should you be interested in having a look is www.whiskas.co.uk I have found this site to be full of interesting points on nutrition - and also for a whole heap of interesting cat facts. In brief (and my own interpretation!) here is a low down of what your cat’s dietary requirements are …
*Vitamins* are essential for any cats’ well being and these care for their bones, eyesight and the efficiency of their metabolism
*Minerals* such as calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc to name but a few are needed and help maintain strong teeth and good bones
*Essential Fatty Acids* , which can be found in poultry, animal fats and vegetable oils. These will help give your cat keep a healthy looking coat
*Carbohydrates* for energy. These can be found in grains like rice, corn and wheat
*Proteins* essential for the maintenance of your cat’s muscle, skin and nails. These can be found in meat, fish and eggs - amongst others
Whiskas seem fairly sorted when it comes to offering a specific range for different stages in your cat’s life. As they get older, their needs differ as regards diet and vitamins. These nuggets are available in packs especially for Kittens, Adult or Senior. They come in the following flavours that I have found so far!
They are available in bags of: 400g = 99p, 1Kg = £1.98 and 2 Kg = £3.68
All said and done Whiskas seem to have the market sewn up, what with their tinned food, pouches, foil sealed, dry cat food and even kitten milk!
Our two devour these nuggets, but make sure you always have a bowl of fresh water on stand by as they are thirsty work. Also remember, that these swell up once moist (if you’ve ever seen these in a plug hole you will know this to be true!) so with this in mind don’t overfeed - allow for them swelling up inside.
Thanks for reading - check out the pussycat piccies!
Advantages: Cat has lovely soft fur again. Disadvantages: None so far.
I would like to review Whiskas Senior complete cat biscuits, which I have been feeding to my cat Jet for about the last six months. This flavour is lamb, as the only ones available in my local Tesco were lamb or a fishy variety and my cat will not eat processed fish.
No, I am not having a Loopymum moment and I am not trying to send you to sleep, I have been impressed by the product and in true Ciao style I wanted to share my thoughts.
Firstly let ... ...picked up a bag of Whiskas Senior complete cat biscuits and trotted off home expecting to have to pass the bag on to my Mum as her cats eat everything.
I suppose you wonder why Jet had not tried them before with Whiskas being such a household name.
Thing is, she had tried them a few years back, but I picked up their standard biscuits and Jet was not impressed so I thought no more about them.
The Boring Bit.

Whiskas is carefully prepared with good, wholesome ingredients. Whiskas spend time, energy and money researching their products and making some of the best products available. Their is such a wide variety of products available for cats and my cat who is fussy just loves Whiskas. Because my cat is fussy he likes change in his diet and variety and Whiskas provide just that change and variety that Cuddles, my cat likes. I've tried feeding him on other ... ...but out of his favourites Whiskas stands out.
Whiskas gives my cat the taste he loves and all the vitamins and nutrients he needs. So he is always healthy and full of activity and he is a happy cat being fed on Whiskas. I like to make sure my cat feels and looks healthy it makes me feel that I am doing a good job in looking after him.
If my cat feels healthy on the inside and beautiful on the outside he is happy all over. It upsets me to see him ...

...kitten, then why not try whiskas kitten complete, with chciken, turkey and mini nuggets with milk.
My kitten is 7 months old now and loves these treats. As soon as he hears me shake the box, he starts meowing for them.
These treats are biscuits. They are small in size, so they are easy to eat and digest too.
The biscuits provide nutrients for your kittens. The outside is crunchy and the inside is soft filled with milk. They are rich in calcium, ... ...definitely loves these treats.
Whiskas kitten complete is for kittens aged 1-12 months. The box tells you how much to feed your kitten. Here is what it says:-
Weaning - 3 months = 4-5 servings a day
4-5 months = 3-4 servings a day
6-10 months = 2-4 servings a day
10-12 months = 2-4 servings a day
pregnant cats = as much as the cat can eat.
I usually give a handful of these treats to my kitten with his cat food each day.
The biscuits come ...

...a variety of flavours but Whiskas are the only ones with the nuggets.
They are crunchy on the outside and meaty on the inside. They do look quite tasty, and one of my cats deliberate picks all the nuggets out so must be very nice. The idea of the nuggets is to help maintain healthy teeth. Our vet has always commented on our cats teeth being in very good condition so guess it works.
The dry food also contains vegetables. Not every cat is the same ... ...since bought other brands again, putting different ones in different bowls (we all like choice, why shouldn't they!) but it's always Whiskas they go for. So definitely a winner in our house.
All that is left to say is don't forget to leave a bowl of water out too. ...

...They eat tinned meat, mine whiskas and whiskas sachets and hers felix, well we are all different arent we cats are no different to us lol
I give them biscuits aswell, its handy if you are going out for the night, where tinned meat tends to go off quickly especially in summer time or in a warm house, and they wont eat it when it starts to do that, well would you?
Our cats eat any biscuits to be honest, but I notice that these go a lot quicker than ... ...smaller sized biscuits, though why the cute little shapes i dont know as well cats dont really take notice, they definitely smell nicer, no i havent tried them, but smell is always a good thing to do with cat food, if it smells good enough for you to eat (please dont) then usually our cats will eat it, if it smells a bit yuck they are likely to think the same thing.

Last week, there was an edition to my under-crowded household - a tiny little kitten whom I named Tish (after actress Tish Dean. Funny my dog is named after Nigel Harman...both were on-screen lovers and siblings in EastEnders!). She is gorgeous and provides me with great company! I love her so much, and only want to do what is best for her, so naturally I want to give her the best cat food I can get my hands on! Though do Whiskas pouches do the job?
Whiskas is a company that provides cats and kittens up and down the country with a selection of fine kitty treats for them to indulge in. One product they offer is their Kitten Pouches; packets of wet cat food to meet the needs of your hungry cat. Why did I choose to purchase these though, over other brands such as Felix? They say you should never judge a book by its cover, but I have ...
Whiskas Cat food is great. Just ask our cat. Indeed, just ask any cat! Any human who says: "Cat's can't tell the difference between cheap and expensive brands of catfood really does not have any understanding of cats and of feeding cats whatsoever.
Take our cat. She knows exactly what she wants. One particular type of catfood she wants and likes is Whiskas cat food. But only the fish flavours and then, especially, the Whiskas in Jelly types of catfood.
The type of catfood that we (sorry, she!) is currently enjoying is Whiskas with salmon in jelly.
Sometimes she looks at tinned catfood and you can see she is thinking: "Oh, not THAT agsin?!"
But there is never any of that with Whiskas! She eat every plate of Whiskas right down to the last drop of jelly and of food. Now, you see, that is very important. With some makes ...

Advantages: Handy easy open tins Disadvantages: cats cant get enough
I started using Whiskas (®/TM Whiskas, Trademark of Mars, Incorporated and its affiliates) ,approx 6 months after acquiring a re-homed 3 yr old Persian. I was told very little about her diet expect that she was a fussy eater and only ever ate dry cat food. She began to loose lots of weight and I decided to try her on some tempting tinned cat food.
After trying many "premium" brands in luxury little packets, I almost gave up as she would not eat any of them.
Almost in desperation I tried Whiskas in jelly varieties.
I found the price very reasonable 2 tins for £1.05 at a local corner shop, renown for its high prices, but later purchased form my local Asda @ £1.89 for six mixed variety tins.
The packaging is cheerful and gives the feeling of quality. It appeals to the owners idea of giving their pet the best.
I especially ...
