My 18 month old tabby, Taz (yes, named after the whirlwind monster) is an awkward so and so when it comes to food. Many times we have laid the latest tasty morsel in front of her Majesty, only for her to turn her nose up and walk off.
So, we think, Fine. She'll sneak back and eat it when she gets hungry. Oh no she doesn't you know. So, we were delighted when the new pouches came out beacuse after the first spoonful of a can, she is bored and won't eat the rest. Pouches are a God-send, a one-serving culinary delight and not too much mess either. We prefer the Whiskas pouches because the chunks are a bit bigger and the gravy is nicer. Apparently.
Even better is the range you can get them in, she eats better than we do now, much more variety although they never seem to get the variety packs with the right combination - either seafood (hates) or poultry (loves) or meat (OK except she loves beef and ham).
Now that the new dry food with Nuggets is out, we are in heaven. Well I think she is, judging by the speed her bowl is emptied and the purring that could be mistaken for a low-flying 747. We mix the two up, I like her to have a bit of dry food, it helps her urinary tract (wee-wee tube) stay healthy and she seems to like the variety in textures.
She also adores the cat milk they do - much, much better for her than cow's milk, the lactose is taken out which means it is less likely she'll blurp it back up under our bed or wherever she likes to kip at the moment.
One last thing - every now and again, Whiskas do a "taste test" and you sign up to get a certain amount of pouches free, they also send you vouchers and stuff every now and again. At Christmas 2000, I signed up for a free 20-day competition thing and for everyone who signed up, a free Christmas meal was donated to the Cats Protetion League which was a fab idea. i also won a free calendar for being one of the first 2000 to sign up. Keep an eye out - freebies are always handy!
