We have always had cats around the house, we used to always feed them the cheaper economy canned food, that is until we had a problem with the cat we have at the moment. Without going into too much information she had some kind of a problem with her teeth and gums. To cut a long story short she now only has four teeth and the vet recommended we used brand names instead of the cheaper kinds of brand food so we switched to whiskas.
~*~ What is it? ~*~
Whiskas complete is a dry cat food that provides all the nutrients your cat needs. Although you do not need to feed canned food alongside whiskas complete we choose to as that gives our cat more choice as to what she would like each day.
The biscuits come in different shapes. They are either stars, cat heads or nuggets. The nuggets claim to be crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, what the nuggets are actually made of will depend on the kind youve bought, normally either cheese or vegetables.
Whiskas complete had a different product for different aged cats: Kitten, Adult or Senior.
They also come in three different flavours: Tuna and Salmon, Lamb and Rabbit or Chicken, Turkey and Duck. I have to say I havent (and wont!!) taste these so I dont know how different they actually taste but i can smell the difference between the fish and the meat flavours.
~*~ Packaging ~*~
Whiskas Complete can food comes in a purple, resealable foil bag that looks almose waxy. On the front there is a picture of a cat, the product name and logo. There is also a small picture to show you what the cat food actually looks like.
The bags are available in 400grams or 1Kg
~*~ What does it taste like? ~*~
Personally, I've no idea! but my cat seems to like it! Even though shes fed both the canned and the dried food she will come to us and ask for more food if shes eaten all her dried whether or not she has the canned available!
She often tries to put her head in her bowl before weve even finished feeding her and more than once weve caught her eating out the bag when weve forgotten to reseal it properly! For some reason it seems to taste better out the bag then it does out her bowl!
~*~ Cost and Availability ~*~
The cost varies between the flavours so if it doesnt matter which flavour you buy id check to see which is cheaper! On average though the 400gram bags are roughly 90p whereas the kilo bags are just over £2.00
