I read this book a coulpe of months ago but the story was so good it has stuck with me. I can't remember the names of the characters but are the names really that important as long as you can really enjoy the plot? If you cant take the vivid details of dead bodies and women being hunted and horribly murdered then this is not the book for you. The bad guy in this book is a rich old guy who likes to stalk and mutulate young attractive women. He is insane no doubt but the reasons why would shock even the most experienced reader. The good guys are a couple who are brought together by the first murder and who then have to struggle throught thier own issues to stay together to stop the killer, but the plot takes an unexpected twist when the killer himself dies and then continues to stalk the leading lady even after death. Is he really dead or has he come back to finish his business? Noone beleives her when she goes to the cops except of course for the leading man who comes to her rescue and then falls head over heels for her. I had a hard time putting this book down as chapter after chapter another innocent woman was sliced and diced and left on display. Please excuse the graphic language but if you think that was bad wiat until Koontz dishes it up. You'll literally be able to see them right behind your eyelids when you try to sleep. This was a great book and intially turned me on to Koontz. He's a great auther and rivals some of the best. Pick up this book and you won"t put it down.

One of few Koontz novels I have yet to read. Sounds like a cracker! Dave

Definitely not my kind of book, I can't stand violence and gore! I think you gave away a bit too much of the plot in your review - if there's an unexpected twist, then explaining what it is rather spoils it for people who might want to read it. Sue
