The Tin
Without going into too much detail the tins is a joy to have on display in your kitchen. It is decorated with stars and moons. There is a Wake Up tea in the same range that has a happy sun decorating its packaging. Together they look really nice and compliment each other. . Anyway onto more important things!
The contents.
On opening the blue lid of the tin you are greeted by granules rather than tea leaves. These granules are pale peach in colour and each individual granule is similar to send in size and texture. On giving the contents a sniff I am greeted by a faintly sweet smell with perhaps a tiny hint of fruit
Making the tea up.
The packet says that this tea can be drunk hot or cold. Other teas in this range are nice served cold as iced tea but I would say this one is best served hot. I add the recommended three heaped teaspoons to my mug, and then add boiling water! It mixes well to produce a honey coloured clear liquid with none of the granules floating about
The smell
For the second time I take a sniff of the now ready tea. It does not smell like tea, not even the herbal or fruit infusions you get. It smells very sweet with a hint of fruit. .No wonder, the main ingredient of his drink is sugar.
Once it has cooled down a little I get to taste the tea. It does not taste like tea although it does contain tea extract. The first thing that hits you is the sweetness. Due to the sugar and honey flavouring Dreamtime instant tea s ultra sweet. It is a very smooth drink. Perhaps this is the vanilla or honey or even the chamomile oil. I presume the camomile is used for its relaxing properties. The apricot is not apparent at first but as you drink work your way through the drink it become stronger. It’s a really nice comforting taste which is great for jut before bed but I am not sure it is for everyone. I am sure some people would find it far too sweet. I was also disappointed to note only flavourings were used instead of vanilla essence, honey or apricot puree or juice. The three heaped teaspoons as quoted on the tin gives about the right strength for this drink. Any less and it would be weak and watery and any stronger and it would be far too sweet and a threat to people’s teeth. After drinking this I notice there is no gunk at the bottom of my cup. That is great although you do get a sugary deposit if you use too much. I also feel quite relaxed and in the right frame of mind for sweet dreams. I think this might be a psychological effect rather than an actual effect as you feel relaxed as it is supposed t be a relaxing drink if that makes sense.
The price of the tin may sound expensive but this stuff does last quite a long time. We drink this most nights and it tends to last between four and six weeks. The drink contains 40 calories and no fat. The tea can be bought in 12 other flavours to suit all moods and seasons including mulled wine, English fruits, vitality, lemon and lime and mango and passion fruit
Whittards of Chelsea’s Dreamtime instant tea is a great way to lead you to sweet dreams as long as you have a very sweet tooth.
...Dreamtime Tea . Now, Whittard tea is probably not going to be available in your local supermarket . If you're lucky, like me, you live in a large city with a Whittard shop - a little haven you can duck into on a stressful day where they always have one hot coffee sample and one iced tea sample on the go . In fact, it was inside the shop that I first tried 'Dreamtime' - a little polystyrene cup filled with a flavourful chilled drink. If you don't ... ...seem a bit much, but Whittard often have offers of 3 for 2, or 3 tins for £12, so you can often get a saving, and I do think some of their other teas are worth trying . I love this drink - it tastes absolutely wonderful, and while I can't say for sure that it makes me sleep better, it does help me feel much more relaxed and centred . ...

I bought this for my wife to try as she is into herbal teas- however she fond it too sweet for her liking so I ended up drinking it myself. It becomes addictive - hence my hunt on the net for a supplier as we stay in the North of Scotland! ...
