Advantages: 300MBs per second plus 500GBs Disadvantages: nothing
...The interface transfer rate of this 3gigabit hard drive is phenomenal! Its literally blisteringly fast at almost 300 MBs per second. Now this is faster than most dual-core pcs can manage and its a shame this isn't a desktop processor instead! I usually got around 281 MBs when testing it at work and this really is designed for speedy transfers.
I like the ease of use of this hard drive, which is twice as fast as offerings currently on the market. ESATA II seems to be very good in my experience.
The tower-like appearance with a stable base and contemporary white casing is a pleasing move by Lacie.
Its slim, rectangualer design means that it is a space saver and can be stored upright close to your pc.

Advantages: Great for overclocking, fully features, well organised Disadvantages: No DDR3 support, no proper SLI support
...enough. Gigabyte's effort comes in several flavours - the one being reviewed here is the GA-P35T-DQ6. While others were aimed at those looking for an upgrade on a budget, the DQ6 looked towards those who really wanted to get the absolute maximum performance out of their systems. However, the lack of a second full-speed PCI-E slot meant that those who wanted an SLI system with two graphics cards running concurrently would be left with a bit of a problem, since they would be restricted from the start. As such, those favouring SLI are forced to look towards the higher end X38 and X48 chipsets, or the nVidia 6 and 7 series boards.
The Gigabyte P35-DQ6
Sporting the near-traditional "6-Quad" slogan (hence the Q6), the board claims to provide Quad BIOS, Quad Cooling, Quad eSATA 2, Quad Triple Phase, Quad Core Optimised Performance...

Advantages: Good layout, Excellent overclocker, Good feature set. Disadvantages: On-board Wi-Fi and Sound are poor. Expensive
...a difference but when overclocking I guess it all helps).
I have 2GB installed on the board and it works fine with XP. You can upgrade to 4GB if you really need it.
I hard overclocked the board to a very reasonable level and it has been rock solid with no hangs etc...
*****************BIOS***************************
The BIOS is from American MegaTrends and allows you to do the standard things. The BIOS does go further though allowing for a large number of tweaks to the system for overclocking purposes such as memory timings, voltage and frequency.
*****************E-Sata***************************
This board is unusual as it provides a single E-Sata connection. This means if you have a compatible external devices with an E-Sata interfaces you can connect it up and experience SATA-1 speeds (150Gbps).
I have sued this feature...
