We bought Wii Fit shortly after its release and I was a little dubious about spending £70 on a fitness game on top the £55 i already spend a month on a gym membership!

The game starts off with you answering some questions about yourself i.e. date of birth, height etc. The machine then calculates your BMI and your Mii character becomes thinner/ fatter to reflect your actual body shape! Be warned that this game will announce on the screen that you are underweight/ overweight/ obese etc!

The first stage of the game is using the Wii board to measure your balance and centre of gravity by leaning forwards/ backwards etc. until your weight is evenly distributed on the board. This was more difficult than I expected but still a lot of fun! The game will then calculate your Fitness Age which for me was 3 years older than my actual age, so not that bad!

The game has four different sections- Yoga, Balance, Aerobic Exercises and Muscle Stretches.

In the yoga section there are various yoga moves you can do which focus on your balance with new positions being unlocked the more you use it. After you have completed each section you are rated on how you done.

The balance section (my favorite part of the game!) has lots of mini games including skiing, ski jumping and tightrope walking. You are rated after each game with your scores recorded on the leader board.

Within the Aerobic section there are games which include gyrating your hips as if you are playing with a hula hoop and is surprisingly tiring as well as a game that involves you jogging on the spot while you watch your Mii run round a circuit!

The final section (and my least favorite) is the muscle stretches where you copy the on screen trainer doing various exercises. Again the more often you use it the more exercises are unlocked.

I have had a great time playing this game with my family and friends as we try to beat each others top scores on the various games. However I wouldn't advise that people use this as their only form of exercise!
