Advantages: Elegant style, Beautiful Instrument Samples, XG MIDI Compatability, Floppy Disk Drive Disadvantages: Keys, although semi-weighted, still not very realistic
...I was quite shocked to see that this product was not available to comment upon and write about the other day when I decided to try writing another opinion. As soon as I realised this, I used the "Suggest Product" thingy in Ciao. And now to my delight, this product has been added to the list ;)
I have been a Yamaha user all of my life, since the age of 2 when my parents bought me a little toy keyboard to mash about with. Progressing from the little toy Yamaha Portatone I eventually went through a whole range of Yamaha keyboards as I have grown up, up to a few months ago when I had a Yamaha PSR-170 which was being used to help me in my Music-Tech studies at school. Advantages: Looks and tone straight from Hell Disadvantages: Its a beast
...are the traditional knobs sat on the body of the guitar, instead they have been turned on their side and recessed into the bottom edge of the guitar body. Apart from the fact they look incredibly stylish, the main reason for this innovation is that they are not as easy to knock when the guitar is played on stage. Add to that the recessed pickup switch and jack socket and you have a guitar that is not just eye-catching but incredibly practical.
Next on the list is the reverse headstock which has a point sharp enough to circumcise a gnat. Here we also find the high-quality Maverick branded machineheads, and the remarkably stylish Maverick logo.
Moving down we get to the neck, carved and then hand-finished from a single piece of kiln-dried Canadian maple. It really is that sort of attention to detail that sets these guitars apart from the competition...

Advantages: Across the board competence. Nice tone, good build. Disadvantages: Intonation suspect, a safe choice - nothing spectacular.
...A little history: Buffet, as the name suggests, were founded in France and are still manufactured there today. However, only a few decades ago, they were absorbed by the student music giant Boosey & Hawkes. In the title is said Buffet are mass-produced - this is not strictly true. What I mean is that Buffet churn out hundreds and hundreds of clarinets, and try to cater across the board. They do however spend a lot of time on the instruments - in the Buffet factory, there is one guy whose job is to test barrels. He has a clarinet, picks up a barrel from the barrel bucket, and puts it on. He plays for a bit, then changes the barrel position by a miniscule amount, and plays some more. When he has found the best position, he stamps the logo on it. That's the level of detail on these clarinets. Here's an overview:
