Review of "Wild Wadi Water Park, Dubai"
Russian girl working in international education. Huge fan of travelling. Don't forget to be a girl - so interested in cosmetics and other girl stuff:) Love reading, cinema and cats.
If I needed to descrbe Wild Wadi in one phrase, I'd just say: "The best water park I've ever visited".Wild Wadi is located in Jumeirah, Dubai, and the first thing to mention is that it gives you a chance to enjoy the exceptionally good views of Dubai...and make photos with the famous Burj al Arab from quite a different angle without crowds of people. But...let's do it step-by-step.
You get there by taxi and buy your ticket. It can be also bought online. Still the price is not the lowest one (about 25 GBP + additional costs such as lockers and towels rent), this amusement is worth it. Access is complimentary for children two years and under. You get in, leave your stuff in a locker...and start having fun.
The territory is very clean and beautiful. I should say, it is a very stylish park - all the decorations are made in line with the original Arab "sandy" style. There are attractions both for adults and kids; as far as we were two adults, I'll focus on the attractions for grown ups mainly. All the rides are excellent and a lot of fun, but it's necessary to pay special attention to two of them - Master Blasters and Jumeirah Sceirah. Master Blasters is a long ride during which you go not only downhill, but also uphill, enjoying the speed and the beautiful views of Dubai - an absolute must-do in Wild Wadi. Jumeirah Sceirah is a thing for those who "like it hot". It's one of the scariest attractions in my life...still, as soon as you're done you want to do it again:)) So, how does it happen? You climb the 32 metres tower. According to the official web-site of the park, "you're enjoying spectacular views of the waterpark". I should admit I was crying and trying to run away all the time. When you reach the top of the tower, you step into a special capsule. The doors close and the floor beneath opens...are you ready for a 80 km/h ride?:) Sounds scary...and it is scary. But the feeling is truly unforgettable! You can buy photos afterwards (I didn't as I looked like a dead body on mine).
Among other attractions I can name Wipeout and Riptide - it is a surfing simulator which I did not try myself as it seemed you needed at least some experience to do that. Also there are more "traditional" rides like Burj Surj with downhills slides and tornadoes. All in all there are 9 rides and a number of swimming pools where you can chill after the ride. The queues are not very huge, still there are some.Of course, there are places to eat and drink in the park, as you usually spend the whole day there. There are about 6 cafes around Wild Wadi, all of them serving fast food - quite tasty still. What you can find there is pizza, burgers, nachos, popcorne, ice-cream, kebabs. Prices are a bit higher than average. Only soft drinks are served in the territory of the park.
I'd recommend planning a whole day for this water park...and a good nightsleep afterwards!
