SORRY PUT IT IN THE WRONG PLACE TO START OFF THEN FOUND IT'S RIGHTFUL PLACE - HERE IT IS
I have found a way of saving money (I know that we all want to really)
Due to my place of work I have to shop for a residential home on a VERY tight budget. This has found me shopping in places that I would never have thought off.
I have found Wilkinson’s (or wilko’s as it is otherwise known). There are shops all over England, but the ones close to me are in Epsom, Sutton and Kingston.
The shop:
The shop looks like a general department store from the outside and looks like the same inside. Many aisles filled with household products, cleaning products, personal care, toys, pet care including food, clothes for everyone, make-up, stationary, etc.
The shop is a cross between superdrug/boots and Woolworth’s.
The prices:
I have found that by buying wilko’s own products, you can purchase products very cheaply. I shall give a few examples.
They also stock named brands and often do special offers on them, for example,
6x Kleenex toilet paper - £1.50 Herbal Essences 2 in 1 shampoo - £1.09 Flash floor cleaner - 89p The staff:
The staff can be identified easily as they wear red t-shirts with fairly sized name badges.
They are very approachable and will help you as much as possible, especially when looking for a product; they will take you personally to the aisle that it is kept in.
I brought all my daughter’s party items (invitations, party bags + toys, napkins etc) in this shop and only spent £10 for a party of 25 children.
Overall:
This shop is a good way on stocking up on products that are used on a regular basis for a cheaper price. I started off only using this shop for work to save them money, but this has now spilled over into my personal shopping. It is very rare for me to shop in Boots as I can buy all that I need in Wilko’s.
My average spending in Boots on an average shopping trip was £30. My average spending in Wilko’s on an average shopping trip is £10.
I know where I will be shopping from now on, for the same quality but for less then half the price. And if you don’t believe me – try it for yourself. Wilko’s are popping up all over the place these days.
