Full review
When I first saw this advertised (probably about 2 years ago now) I was immediately attracted to it because of the conditioning block, it sounded as if it would make shaving a lot easier and a lot quicker.

I was also drawn in by the fact that they claimed that there was aloe vera in the block (What is it about aloe vera? - it doesnt matter what they put it in, if its got it I want it!)

I had to wait about a year before I could reasonably afford to buy it and keep replacing the heads as I was not working at the time but it was definetely worth it!

The razor itself has three blades with a white conditioning block surrounding it. The Razor and the block are one thing, so when you change the blade you change the blade. The handle is white with a blue rubber grip, it also has a small hole in the top to enable you to hang your razor up on a shower hanger they provide when you buy the razor. You also get a plastic cap for you to put over your razor when travelling. I was originally quite surprised at how bulky the razor was, but its probably to accommodate for the size of the conditioning block and its lightweight so the size doesnt matter so much.

There are three types of blades you can buy: Sensitive (containing aloe vera), Normal (containing cocoa butter, aloe vera and vitamin E) and Melon (containing fragrance and Aloe vera). I havent used the Melon conditioning blocks so in this review the information will relate to the Sensitive and Normal blocks, although I would assume the melon would have similar, if not the same results. As far as I have noticed neither of the two I use have a scent to them.

Each blade comes in its own plastic wrapper with a foil top that you just pull off.

~*~ How to use ~*~

The Intuition razor can be used in the bath or shower and is just as effective in each.

To use it you wet your skin and the blade (both must be kept wet throughout the whole of the shave, otherwise it doesnt shave anywhere near as close and your more likely to cut yourself). You shave the same way as you would with any other razor, you just run it gently over the area you want to shave. It works well for both legs, underarms and bikini line. You need to keep rinsing the razor and the area your shaving as much as possible to ensure that both stay as wet as possible.

The razor will automatically slide itself in or out to adjust to the size of the conditioning block. The only problem I have found is that if you hold the handle below the blades the razor can slide too far back below the level of the conditioning block and therefore wont be anywhere near your skin! However, this only ever really occurs when the conditioning block is new and at its largest.

When you have finished shaving I recommend you use the shower hanger they give you as this will help the water drain from the razor and keep the conditioning block dry when your not using it and this makes it last longer.

You know when you need to change the blade as the conditioning block slowly wears down and so when the conditioning block runs out its time to change the blade.

~*~ What effect does it have on my skin? ~*~

I often cut myself with other razors and nearly always have a shaving rash afterwards. However, I have never had either of these problems with this razor. My skin feels completely smooth and very soft afterwards and so I have never needed a moisturiser after using this. In fact I have found my skin to be softer when using this block then I have after using a moisturiser!

Also as I have stated in a previous review there are a lot of products like this that I am allergic to and consequently started using the sensitive conditioning block when I had no problems with that I tried the normal block and have had no problems with that either.

~*~ Advantages ~*~

Very quick and easy to use if in a rush

Doesnt irritate my skin

Very effective at softening my skin

Very close shave

Never cut myself (so far!)

~*~ Disadvantages ~*~

The conditioning block only lasts for about 3-4 shaves, less if you do your legs, bikini line and underarms every time

Replacement blades are very expensive

The blade can disappear inside the conditioning block

~*~ Cost and availability ~*~

The razor and extra blades are available from boots and superdrug.

The razor itself (with 2 blades) costs around £6.50

3 replacement blades cost around £6.50 and 6 replacement blades cost around £12.00

All three types of conditioning balm cost the same amount
