"Classic Humour."

A wonderfully quaint old film. Made in a bygone era for a more caring audience.

The enigmatic Will Hay stars with his 2 long standing cohorts Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt.
Here we see them in charge of a railway station bringing their usual brand of chaos and hilarity.

Will has had every type of job on the railway and has been a disaster at all of them but now thanks to his sister he is given a promotion!. He is shipped to an out of the way, run down and forgotten station by the name of Buggleskelly.
Here Will meets up with Jeremiah Harbottle and Albert Brown and soon all three of them are getting drunk, having punch ups eating customer’s piglets for breakfast oh and getting involved with gun running.

There is a tale about 1 eyed Joe the ghost who haunts the railway line and the gun runners use this to smuggle guns.

You can easily guess how this turns out; films from this era always had happy endings. However it’s how you get to that ending that sets a film apart from its contempories.
And this film really is a cut above. The jokes are none stop, the slapstick well timed and the ending, ok, expected.
Completely inoffensive and kids could watch it comfortably.

This was apparently Wills favourite film and it shows. A deliciously nostalgic film that will not disappoint. .
