IT'S STICKY - BUT IT WORKS!
My son had really bad and persistent nappy rash. I tried all the usual nappy creams and although these prevented a rash they didn't make any difference once the rash was there. I hadn't actually heard of Metanium until a nursery nurse suggested it. It really worked for my son. Boy does it get everywhere though! The cream is quite thick and sticky and it's bright yellow - maybe that's why it seems to get everywhere - you can see it! You shouldn't put too much on and I only used it to help clear up a bout of nappy rash rather than prevent it but I really would recommend this product. NB there are lots of different types of nappy rash so if your baby has persistent problems a trip to the docs might be wise - some rashes need prescription creams to sort them out.
Advantages: thick gives excellent coverage and protection Disadvantages: spurts out the tube so you tend to get more than you need
I was recommended Metanium by a friend of mine after we had been talking about my little boy having really bad nappy rash. I had tried all the other high street products and felt that they had little affect including an antiseptic talc that I had been given by my health visitor. I managed to get hold of Metanium at my local supermarket and used it on my little boy as soon as I got home. Its really really thick so you do not need too much making the ... ...wipes quite easily so not really a major issue. My little boys nappy rash was gone with 48hours and it was awful - almost blister like,
I would recommend Metanium above any other nappy rash cream its fab and not expensive especially considering how little you actually need. ...

Advantages: Treats and soothes effectively Disadvantages: Stains
...either Bepantham or Metanium, with Metanium being the stronger and more effective of the two.
I took a trip to my local supermarket and looked at both products. I noticed that the Bepantham seems to be aimed at preventing nappy rash where as the Metanium quite clearly stated that is was for the treatment of nappy rash and also had a soothing effect. I therefore bought the Metanium which cost £2.90 for a 30g tube.
Metanium is a thick cream which ... ...Only a very thin application is needed and so a full tube will probably last through your child's babyhood! It can cause discolouring of your finger nails and contact with clothes should be avoided.
I was very impressed with this product. Quite incredibly I noticed a difference after the very first application and my baby's nappy rash cleared up in no time.
I fully recommend Metanium! ...

Advantages: Waterproof, only need a small amount Disadvantages: Messy, smelly, difficult to wash off
Metanium comes in a yellow tube of 30g costing £3.56.
The cream itself is also yellow.
It's really waterproof so does not wash off easily therefore it is a great barrier cream.
It has a strong medicated smell to it. Watch out as it does get everywhere if you have a wriggly baby.
I had this on prescription as my little one had bad nappy rash, thanks to a certain nappy (see my review), so saved a bit of money as I was trying various creams to find ... ...recommended by HV and some friends said it was brill, they swear by it.
Well my boy must have a sensitive bum as his rash started to get worse with the use of this cream. I went back to the Sudocrem and his bottom was back on the road to recovery.
I guess all babies are different so all I can say is if your little babber has sensitive skin then use with caution.
I won't be using this cream again.
I have given this product an overall rating of ...

Advantages: Great Barrier Disadvantages: Smell, Colour, waterproof (takes ages to wash it off)
Metanium Nappy Rash Cream.....Hmmmm What Can I Say...? Well this cream is a horrible yellow colour and is very thick but easy to apply to a sore bottom and does spread rather easy.
The cream you can buy for about £3.50 - £4 ish and it comes in a 30g tube...does last a long time though....
I got this cream on prescription as my daughters nappy rash ended up infected....when i got the cream and got home to but it on...i was surprised to what it looked ... ...before...i have already mentioned the look of it but the smell was not nice and stained her bottom yellow....
The cream is deffinatly waterproof...which makes it hard to wash of babys bottom and your hands.
I would only use this again because the cream sticks to bottom and does help the nasty rash, this is the only reason i do recommend it!! ...

Advantages: Really does work, easy to apply and dispense Disadvantages: Will stain clothes, slight smell
My little boy Harry is teething at the moment, and with that comes some very unpleasant nappies. He has never had nappyrash up until he started teething when he was 6 months old, although it wasn't too bad then. But since he has been having his big teeth at the back coming through, his rash has been dreadful, and I have had to resort to a strong cream to try and help protect his bottom and help the rash to go down a bit.
I asked around a few mummy friends of mine, and almost all of the recommended that I buy myself a tube of a nappyrashointment called Metanium. I had only ever heard of Sudocrem, as Harry had never really had nappyrash, so I headed off to Boots to find this miracle cream that was meant to be fab for nappyrashes.
Metanium comes in a small cardboard box, and inside this is a metal tube with contains 30g ...
