Pink liquid in a plastic bottle. What more can I say about Windolene ? Well the fact is that I can say quite a lot. Okay, chores around the house are pretty dull stuff, and I must have tried every product going when it comes to cleaning windows, and always revert to Windolene. Why ? well there are many factors. One is that being a pink liquid that dries a little white, you can actually see how much of the damned stuff is left on the window and needs buffing. With eyesight like mine, I need all the help I can get. Over a period of fifteen years, I have tried Mr. Muscle spray, and many other ... more

Those of you have read some of my previous reviews will probably know by now that I am not a huge fan of housework. However, it is one of life's necessities and coming home from work this evening and taking a look around at my flat I decided that a spot of spring-cleaning was well overdue. Whilst undertaking these chores I got thinking about my next ciao review (sad I know but true) and suddenly I realised that I was holding it in my hand and so today's first review is on the wonders of Windolene. For anybody who lives in a house without windows and has never seen or heard of Windolene I will ... more

The title has something to do with what my partner calls me when he notices that I haven't cleaned the windows for a while. Living in the country has it's disadvantages too and living with the fields at the back of the house means that when the ploughing or planting is getting done, then the dust from the ground makes the windows dirty. I have found the perfect solution for this. It's these little windowlene non smear large wipes. They are a god send. Im not a housework lover, but have managed to get my head around the fact that it has to be done on a regular basis, so the easier it can be ... more

After writing an opinion on 'members advice on cleaning windows' and suggesting that everyone uses water and vinegar, with newspaper, I decided to try out one of the main brands of window-cleaning agent. I didn't exactly go out and buy it on this occasion, my mother convieniently had a bottle of it in the cupboard under the sink and as it was definetly time for me to give my bedroom window a thoroughly good clean, I thought I would give it a try and compare it to the 'old-fashioned' way of doing things. I used the 'Non-smear Windolene, with pure vinegar'. Pure vinegar? Does that mean you can ... more

I used to use the traditional pink gunk that windolene used to produce. It was very handy for blacking out windows to keep nosey neighbours from peeking in when you took your curtains down to wash them. I found this product easy to use but you needed plenty of elbow grease to get it off and the smell wasn't to pleasant either but it used to bring my windows up really nice. Don't you just hate the sunny weather when it shows up every little smear and sticky finger print even if you clean your windows every day (which I don't). But enough rambling from me. I was at my local shops and saw a ... more
