I have just completed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Certificate course and can recommend it to anyone who would like to develop more of an understanding about wine. The course covers the major wines sold in this country and is very interesting, you learn about the geography of the various wine producing countries and soon will be able to identify the grape varieties involved. We tended to specialise in a particular region each week and finished up with a mock exam and a blind tasting session. The exam involves answering 50 multiple choice questions and the Certificate leads on to a Higher Certificate course. Highly recommended, its great fun.
