Advantages Advantages Beautiful colour from Autumn through to the depths of Winter

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rather expensive initial layout

    Advantages Advantages Reliable . easy

Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't like hot temps

I would recommend as an easy plant to grow in the home over winter the cyclamen . I have grown this for a number of years and it never fails provided that you have a cool room. They do not like hot centrally heated rooms and also the other main enemy of cyclamen is wet. Take care not to over water them or the crown can start to rot and all kinds of diseases such as botrytis and mildew can then strike . The plant is reliable and flowers over Christmas and the cold winter months provided that you take care with the above mentioned advice . They can be grown from seed when they take a year to ... more
