When I was in my 20s I used to watch a friend (in her 30s) carry out her daily facial skincare routine.... cleansing...... exfoliating..... toning.... moisturising, Oh how I laughed...she of the quick scrub with flannel and hot water.....Oh how she is probably laughing now.........
I am now in my 30s and got a shock when I looked in a magnified mirror one day and I vowed to take more care of my skin, although after 2 days of the above regime I was bored and mascara marked my pillow once more!
I have combination skin and at certain times of the month can be prone to a few volcanoes......at times I have believed them to be alien beings building igloos under my skin.......but this has been scaled down to mere molehills since I have started to use my trusty witch wipes.

On the back of the pack is all the small print ...don't try to read through foggy, sleepy eyes as the wind may change and no matter how many wipes you use your face will stick in a squint with your tongue out!...in other words.....the writing is very small and is blue on the transparent blue background making it quite difficult to read. To save you digging out your magnifying glass I got mine so I could give you the gist of what is written thereon....
"All Witch skincare products are formulated with natural witch hazel to leave your skin feeling sensationally clear, refreshed and healthy looking" It is stated that witch wipes cleanse and tone without drying and can be used to remove makeup grease and other everyday impurities. It tells you how to use them....basically open the ,kindly marked, peal here sticky tab and pull out a wipe then gently wipe over your face ( I mean what else were you going to do with it?!) Make sure you stick down the label to ensure your wipes do not dry out. As with most types of wipes do not flush them down the toilet as they can cause blockages and they do not decompose and will result in costing us all even more on our water & sewerage bills! These wipes are not tested on animals and are dermatologically approved for use on all skin types although caution is recommended with sensitive skin and avoid eyes.
**The Wipe**
When you pull the white wipe out the first thing you notice is how thick and soft it is, is very moist and initially looks as though there are little soap bubbles on it. It doesn't break or tear and you can stretch it to almost twice its size should you wish to!
Now, knowing they are covered in witch hazel you like me will probably be expecting a medical stench..however i was surprised to find that they do not smell at all like grazed knees or hospital wards. The smell is strong enough to be smelt although not overpowering and has a slight clinical aura.I cant quite describe the smell other than they smell "clean"!
My all singing, all dancing skin care regime now consists of me using my witch wipes first thing in the morning to cleanse and tone my skin and to scrub off the make up the previous nights flannel missed (some things never change...I love a good scrub with a flannel and hot water before bed). As the witch wipes tones as well as cleanses 30somethings no longer need to have a half our daily routine......cleanse..... exfoliate.....tone...moisturise... I started to use moisturiser before I discovered witch wipes and used to get awful "milk spots" on my cheek bones. These are caused by blocked pores and need exfoliating away...although they were constantly coming back. I have since found out that you shouldn't apply moisturiser after cleansing as you open your pores in the cleansing process then when you apply your moisturiser you are just filling them up with gunk. This is where the handy witch wipes come into their own...they cleanse then they tone..closing all your pores ready for you to moisturise.
Whilst the pack advises you to avoid your eyes I personally dont! I frequently remove my eye make up and have never felt any discomfort.
Each wipe is moist enough for you to completely cleanse/tone your face and leaves enough moisture to cleanse/tone your neck, upper back, armpits, chest, bedside table and ashtray!! Thus proving how time saving and eccenomical 1 little wipe can be!
I will concentrate on using the wipe on my face for this part of my review. When you wipe over (or in my case scrub) your face it at first feels like any other wipe nice and cleansing then ZAP you can feel all your pores tighten and close as if by magic (is that why they are called witch wipes?...no no Jess thats the Witch Hazel!)
The overall feeling after using a witch wipe is CLEAN, tight and fresh.
Since I started to use witch wipes the bimonthly vocanoes have reduced to mere molehills and are much less in quantity and frequency. This was until I made the mistake of buying a different wipe that was on offer 1 week later....oh hello alien life form, thats a nice igloo you are building on my chin........I saved those for the special job of cleansing bedside table/ashtray....and stick to my tried and tested witch wipes.
**Price**
The tricky bit...if you shop at a major chemist or supermarket these wipes are not expensive - they are extorsionate at £3.99 for 25..thats 16pence each! But if you are thrifty like me I am sure you can find them much much cheaper - my local toilettries shop sells them at 99p for 25 or you could look out for bogof /3 4 2.
**Ingredients**
Sorry I failed chemistry (I didnt want to look clever next to my sisters phd in it...so went for the easier options of drama and...) so these are mostly just big complicated words to me...but I will tell you them anyway just in case there is another budding dr of something I cant quite pronounce reading!
Aqua (Ha ha I know this one- its water!) Hamamelis Virginiana (I know this one too...only because I live with a gardener.....WITCH HAZEL) Propylene Glycol ( isnt that a plastic with sugar??) Phenoxyethanol (bacardi breezer?) Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate EDTA ( salted chocolate?) Polysorbate 20 (mmmm sherbet) Disodium EDTA Disodium Phosphate Citric Acid Parfum Methylparaben (Is this a word?) Propylparaben (ditto) Iodopropynyl Butycarbamate ( they are just getting silly now!!) Sodium Chloride (Salted swimming baths water?) Diazolidinyl Urea ( Drugged wee?!!!!!) Linalool Hexyl Cinnamal
and thats all! So not much in them really........maybe thats why the type is so difficult to read!
Overall I think these wipes are great for lazy/ time challenged/spotty/ aging people like me who like the idea of of a good skincare routine but give up if it takes longer than 2 minutes.
Advantages: Clean smelling and effective Disadvantages: Could work out expensive
...into account that they contain witch hazel, which I use in various forms, and I know the wipes and myself will get along just fine.
WHAT DO THEY PROMISE?
Mainly the same old promises made by other similar products, but these make no promises to remove eye make up. I usually find that if they promise to remove even water proof mascara, they can't!
These state that they will cleanse and tone without drying, as well as remove every day impurities ... ...imagine that this is because witch hazel does tend to be good for people prone to spots.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM?
Yes if you want a quick cleanse "on the go". I also like them for a facial clean in the morning when my face is already relatively clean and just needs freshening up.
They are non irritating and really do remove grime, leaving my skin feeling tingly clean and ready for the next layer of dirt.
Remember to moisturise afterwards because ...

Advantages: Great product that works Disadvantages: None
I find Witch face-wipes to be one of the best around, and I use them regularly, I'm always really pleased with how my skin looks and feels when I've used them. They're for cleansing and toning and are really effective at removing make-up or to simply freshen up, day or night. They come in a handy pack containing 25 wipes which will easily fit into your bag if you need to use them on the go.
The face-wipes contain extract of natural witch hazel, ... ...soft and supple. Witch products first came available in the 1960's, and became popular for spot and blemish treatment. And has since broadened its range to five more daily products, which include washes and cleansers, and more recently in 2003 the 'pure skin refreshment' range. The Witch brand continues to evolve and two more moisturisers were launched last year, it's growing in popularity every year and is definitely a brand I trust.
These face-wipes ...

...from as a sample from Witch before I tried them I thought they were going to be like the witch hazel that my Nan used to put on my stinging nettle stings that smelt really harsh and stung a lot. I was to be very surprised and relieved – that they weren’t like that at all; in fact I was extremely impressed.

...for sensitive skin. Apparently, witch hazel is not suitable for everyone. I have very sensitive skin and find it absolutely fine.
Another bonus, is that these wipes are not tested on animals and they do not contain alcohol. I think the lack of alcohol is a big step forward for cosmetics, as it is often alcohol in products such as toner which can over dry your skin and cause it to produce even more oil. Finally, these wipes come in a pretty blue, ...

What is it exactly?
So those are the reasons why I ended up picking out Boots Tea Tree + Witch Hazel cleansing and toningwipes. This pack of 25 wipes promises to deep cleanse, refresh and help keep skin clear and healthy.
The addition of tea tree and witch hazel are the two important spot busting ingredients that meant I zoned in on this product. Although I have tried both tea tree and witch hazel products before with no success I thought, maybe the two combined will form an unstoppable team against which spots will have no chance!
Also, they have the added bonus of toners which means getting some of the benefits of a cleanse/tone routine after all!
I thought all of this sounded great and decided to give them a try.
Where did I get it from?
I got them from Boots, obviously, they are not sold elsewhere. I am ...
Advantages: Works well, smells nice, does not dry out. Disadvantages: None for me
I have used Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel cleanser on my face every night for many years now. I have tried others at various times but always come back to this one. I have written a review about it if you are interested.
Anyway a while ago I was in Boots and had a voucher for £1 off any item in the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range. When I looked the items were already on offer at 2 for £5 so I chose a bottle of my favourite cleanser and as I needed a new pack of cleansingwipes I decided to try the ones from this range.
As I said earlier I use the liquid cleanser every night when I am at home but when I travel away taking cleanser and pads is a bit of a faff so I use wipes which I keep in my vanity case so they are ready to go.

This product contains micro granules that break down to get in and cleanse pores, of trapped dirt and remove skin cells leaving skin clearer and smoother..
Why this Product?
It was 5 days to my year 13 end of school prom and I decided I needed something to help keep my spots down or eradicate them completely, so I went of a facial skincare mission into my local town.. I dread to think how long I spent stood in my local Superdrug looking for the perfect priced and ingredients that I knew wouldn't bring my face up in blotches a week from then. So I picked up the bottle ...
