***ABOUT WITCH*** Between 1960 - 1999, witch became known as the brand for spots and blemishes, by using the ever popular natural ingredient Witch Hazel in their products. In 2000-2002, Witch bought out a wider range of products which included five daily use products such as washes and cleansers. By 2008 witch had launched lots more products including moisturisers, hydrating gel and serum. They also re-designed the packaging to a much softer blue colour. By this time there were also various tv advertisements which showed that their products are an easy way to naturally refresh skin.
***THE MAIN INGREDIENT (WITCH HAZEL)*** Witch Hazels are shrubs and also (rarely), small tree's, which can grow 3-8 metres tall. These are popular ornamental plants, grown for their clusters of rich yellow to orange-red flowers which begin to expand in the autumn.
The bark and leaves are astringent, the extract also referred to as witch hazel is used medicinally. Extracts from its bark and leaves are used in aftershave lotions and lotions for treating insect bites and bruises. Witch Hazel was also used widely by American Indians to treat ulcers of the skin, sores and tumours.
***WITCH CLEAR PORE GEL*** This gel helps to keep skin clear and to tackle spots and those nasty blemishes. This product is oil free and helps dissolves access oils and combats problem causing bacteria. Regular overnight use helps tackle the causes of spots for a clearer, healthier complexion.
It is recommended that you wash your face before bed and apply the gel allowing it to absorb into the skin. Give particular attention to areas where access oil builds up. Avoid contact with the eyes. For best results use every night as part of your regular Witch skincare routine.
***PUTTING IT TO THE TEST*** I use to use this every night before going to bed and only stopped using this because it used to bring me out in a few rash like spots, how-ever I did continue to use this put I just dabbed some of the gel onto a blemish or spot before going to bed. In the morning you could notice the results, the blemish was less noticeable and it certainly shrinks the spot in size as well.
I have been using this on my spots and blemishes for well over 3 years now and this is the best thing I have ever used for spots and blemishes and would recommend it to anyone who suffers form the odd spot or blemish now and again! As I only use this gel for spots and not my whole face, this does last quite a long time.
Do not apply this to broken skin or spots which have been scratched/picked, this stings so much!
***AVALIABILITY*** This is available from boots & Superdrug and can be found in the skincare aisle along with other Witch products. It cost me about £3.99 for a 35ml tube of this gel. ***OTHER WITCH PRODUCTS*** Witch also do other facial products such as :
Advantages: better complexion Disadvantages: can dry skin out

...superdrug store. I use their witch hazel gel for all manner of irritations and injuries, as it is kept in the first aid kit, so I am happy to trust the brand, and as a family we know the benefits of soothing witch hazel. The price I thought was also reasonable at £3.49 for a 35ml tube.

As you only do use a small amount each night it will last for ages, mine is still just over half full. So it is really good value for money.
I would definitely recommend ...

...potions around it, it had witch hazel, which rang more bells with me than any of the other ingredients on the other bottles. I'm a bit sceptical about claims on packaging anyway, so if there's an ingredient I can latch onto, I will.
I took it home, excited that I'd finally found the answer to my skin/pore conundrum, and began to apply it to the problem areas of my face - mainly my nose and chin. It smelt fresh and clean and slightly antiseptic, ... ...in I felt like that meant it was actually going to have some kind of effect.
After three or four days of applying, I noticed a little bump on my nose where I'd been applying the Witch. That's right - I'd actually got a blocked pore, and therefore a spot, from using so-called clear pore gel. NOT impressed! It's not the cheapest product out there, after all, and I'd used a tiny fraction of what I'd paid for it. I immediately stopped using it and alowed ...

Advantages: inexpensive, compact, effective Disadvantages: slight antiseptic smell with it
a spot cream after all which is hardly the most glamorous of products! One comment I would note though is there is a slight antiseptic smell which I wasn't overally keen on - but it is a witch hazel product after all. The smell itself quickly disappears after application and would cretainly not be noticeable to anyone else so its not a real drawback.
Witch Stick is widely availaible in most chemists and some supermarkets and at £3.09 is a bit of a bragain compared to some spot treatments.
Also availiable in the Witch range are:
Witch Daily Cleansing lotion at £3.59
and
Witchclearporegel at £3.59
Haven't tried these so couldn't comment on their effectiveness. ...

Advantages: Not Many :-( Disadvantages: Its deffinately not the best product out there!
like there was a film or residue left behand on my skin, which wasnt great.
To be honest for what it is, its probobly not worth what you pay for it, especially since their are much better products out there!
You know what they say PREVENTION is better than CURE! With this in mind why not try an evening pore cleansing gel, this will help unclog pores, reduce redening and even your complection, there are several good makes out there all of which ive used, including : Witchclearporegel, Neutrogena clearpore treatment, or Garnier Pure A intensive treatment gel (I think this one is the best, and is the one im using at the moment) ...
