Advantages Effective, Easy to Obtain, Mild Fragrance
Disadvantages Sticky Consistancy, Could use more Exfoliant Granules
I've tried several exfoliating face washes over the course of the last few months. Since starting a course of tablets designed to aid weight-loss my poor hormones have been all over the place. Not only do I currently produce enough breastmilk to feed several orphans but until recently I had a sore, blotchy face too. Even as a teenager I didn't suffer from spots to any great extent so this was a strange and upsetting experience for me. I tried my usual Boots own exfoliating face wash to tackle the problem, then Clearasil Ultra (waste of nearly a fiver that was!) and then Clean and Cleardeep pore scrub. Nothing changed. All those products and my face still looked like it should have been sprinkled with cheese and shoved under a grill. So next I decided to look for something that worked as an exfoliator and contained a natural antiseptic to combat the soreness even if I couldn't get rid of the spots. What I was actually looking for was something with Tea-Tree oil

The scent was very mild and pleasant like soapy witch hazel (unsurprisingly) and it felt very cool on my skin. It was difficult to massage in and I wasn't convinced it was really doing anything for me. Normally when you wash with an effective exfoliator you can feel the granules on your face which is how you know they're actually doing something. But with this Witch face wash I couldn't feel the exfoliating granules through the thick gel.
Rinsing my face off was really difficult I'm afraid to say. The face wash really stuck to my skin and I had to rinse and re-rinse my face a good ten to fifteen times before I was happy it had all come off. When it finally had all washed off though I was surprised to feel how soft my face was. I actually felt like my face was clean for the first time in two or three months and the soreness was very much alleviated after just one wash.I usually feel the skin on my face getting tighter and tighter within a matter of minutes of emerging from my bath or shower but this didn't happen after washing with this product. I have to say this was the bit that really surprised me. Ordinarily I rush to dry off and dash to my room to gloop on the moisturiser but I genuinely did not need to do so after washing with this product. It seems to be able to clean the pores without drying them out which is an absolute first for me. Yes I did still apply moisturiser, I have dry skin and always have done, but I didn't need to use as much and wasn't in my usual rush to get it on to relieve tension.
