Washed by a witch
Today I'm revieweing the "Gentle Exfoliating Face Wash" by Witch.
Shopper's appeal
I can't afford to buy
Aveda products all the time (and God knwos I'd love to!) - but lucky me, I know a brand who's almost as good when it comes to find a solution to my problematic skin. I tend to have a lot of clogged pores and sometimes even nasty spots, so I try out pretty much everything. One of the things I've tried were the products by the band
Witch and I found them to be quite good!
So when my parents went o the UK, I asked my mum to bring me the Exfoliating Face Wash and she did. :) I've bought this products pretty often now because it really helps.
The tub
The tub is of a turquoise colour, but pretty much see through so you can see the face wash inside. The brand's name is written in a green frame. Below that it says that the product contains witch hazel extract. It is also mentioned that the face wash contains tiny micro-granules which cleanse your pores and it is supposed to leave the skin clear and smooth.
On the back of the tub you get some more information on the brand and the product.
Witch claim to have forty years of experiences about offering skin care that leaves your skin balances. The face wash is supposed to work for all skin types, but the best results come out when it is used on oily / combination skin. It is also supposed to provide Vitamin E for the skin.
The tub contains 150ml and of course the ingredients are listed as well. The face wash is manufactured by
Lornamead.
My experiences
Of course there's a reason for me buying the products repeatedly.
The face wash itself looks like a clear gel. You can see the micro-granules if you look at it closely. The scent is pretty neutral and doesn't bother you at all. There might be a hind of tea tree oil scent, but I am not even sure. I quite like the feel of it - the face wash is not too runny, but not too thick either and it's easy to spread on your skin. I also take a very small amount, barely more than the size of a pea. That's all you'll need! I rub it over my face vigorously, especially in my problem areas (nose and chin!).
You can feel it gently scrubbing your skin, but it's so soft your skin won't get hurt.
It's easy to wash off again. But if you're showering without washing your hair, be careful to not get any in your fringe. Doesn't feel to nice. ;)
The result is great - my skin looks so much better when I use this. The cloggeed pores clear up a little and they are visibly smaller. The skin is very soft and rosy all over. It doesn't feel tight or dry and looks really clean and well-groomed. It isn't red or anything, but there's an effec t- so the scrubbing effect is just perfect. When I use this product regulary, I get real spots less often.
The ingredients
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Coco-Glucoside, Silica, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Acrylates / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polysorbate 20, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Parfum, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Propylparaben, methylisothiazolinone, CI 42090, CI 77007.
The price
At four pounds a tub, this products is not very cheap but not terribly expensive either. The tub will last you a really long time as you need so little of it, so it's good value!
Conclusion
I bought this products so often because it really helps. It's gentle towards the skin, but it really works. I'd even recommend this to people with very sensitive skin as the scrubbing is mild but effective.
So if you have problem skin, give
Witch a chance to help ya! :)
