Rang to place an order, having read awful reviews here and elsewhere, as I wanted to see what they had done to rectify the bad service and delivery issues.
The phone was answered with a "Hello?" I asked whether I was talking to Woods. The exact reaply was "We take their orders". Not yes, sorry - how can I help, anything like that - I immediately realised this was not going to go well....
I explained to the the very, very grumpy salesperson on teh end of the phone that I wanted to check delivery times on stock items after reading a lot of negative publicity. Grumpy told me flatly "28 days" - when I asked why, she replied (even more gruffly) "It's 28 days, that is what we are told we have to say". I asked where it was coming from to take so long and was told "Guernsey". (by the way, these are pretty much actual responses - she was monosyllabic and very, very annoyed that a customer was getting in the way of her busy day of whatever she felt was more important). I thought that was a bit weird when so many next-day mail order services are based iin teh channel islands, and said so...she said "It's 28 days, we have to say 28 days, it might take less, but if you ask it's 28 days."
Taking a different tack I thought I would check if there was stock - as it was simply Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets - possibly one of teh most common supplements on the market. Is it in stock? "How many?" she asked bluntly....I asked what she meant..."How many TABLETS." was the reply....as if I was a complete idiot.
The item I was after was (surprise surprise) not in stock, and when I asked how long it woukld take to come into stock she said "supplies have ben dispatched, they should arrive in about a week"...at which point I foolishly asked how long delivery would take after that point....there was an audible huff from the other end of the telephone line....
By this point I had enough - no way am I giving people like this my money - abd the person I spoke to was so miserable I truly hope she reads this and knows that her attitude is costing her employers business. Or even better, perhaps her employers might like to read this and work out who I spoke to....and possible give her some pointers about how to deal with customers in a couteous and professional manner!
When I said that I had decided not to order (as mentioned I was not inspired by her attitude or helpfulness) this aggressive, disinterested person simply said "right" and hung up!! Sums it up really.
As the director of a large cycling company we get through a lot of these types of products, so I can say without doubt that it's not worth getting tempted by their prices when they clearly can't be bothered to help - we will be ordering elsewhere....tey aren't getting a sniff of my money!!
