...was the old old first Yamaha 211 model which i loved. I produce apretty good tone on my own and after 9 years of playing my teacher recommended i get a new flute. I culdn't see any reason why to at first but as soon as I tried the YFL311S i could sure see why. ...careful because as witth all Yamaha flutes it's made to be sharp so you'll always have to pull it out a little. I find that sometimes if I'm playing in a symphony orchestra where there's lots of rest then a big long passage to play that it does stay in tune quite well (better so than my friends YFL411S which is the next model up from the 311S).
