Jeff's making more noise with his Windsor Alto Sax

Advantages: Great sounding instrument at a real bargain price
Disadvantages: only comes with one reed and the sling supplied is a bit thin.

I've been of work for about six weeks now, following surgery on my left shoulder and idle hands go surfing for toys. Following a bit of a bonus and some commission and remembering a hankering to try the sax, my surfing fingers chanced on this little beau ...

Great for grade 7+ or university/college student

Advantages: Lovely rich tone, redesigned more comfrotable playing position
Disadvantages: None

This well made saxophone from Yamaha is aimed at the 'professional' end of the market and pits itself against the likes of Selmer and Yanagisawa. I bought this sax just after taking my grade 6 ABRSM exam and despite a few hitches at the beginning I have ...

Advantages: Easy to play once learnt, well worth the price paid
Disadvantages: None

The bassoon is a very rare and beautiful instrument, in both senses of the word. It sounds very beautiful and looks equally so (although I’m afraid I will be biased as I am a grade 4 bassoonist in 3 music groups). Where you may have heard the bassoo ...
