Once into the site the access to accounts is OK but I would like to see transfers of money taking place on screen when they are completed. At present a message tells you that the transaction will take place either on the day or if after hours the following day. Should it not be possible to carry out transactions all day and night.

Slow access & transactions
I have been using the Woolwich Open Plan Internet Banking Service for four months with a current
account and several savings accounts
My experience is that the service is very slow to access. The Acceptable Use Policy mentions that security features may slow down the provision of services compared with other sites but I wasn’t prepared for an access time of 5 minutes. Admittedly my computer is not the most up to date but it has all the requirements the above policy recommends. In comparison with EGG’s savings and credit card account the EGG site wins hands down and the recently introduced Abbey National account is good. Have the Woolwich gone over the top with there security? Once into the site the access to accounts is OK but I would like to see transfers of money taking place on screen when they are completed. At present a message tells you that the transaction will take place either on the day or if after hours the following day. Should it not be possible to carry out transactions all day and night. These are a couple of disadvantages of using the website. On a positive note home banking has many advantages for one reason using my local branch of the Woolwich can take as long as 20 minutes to get service.
Advantages: Nice staff, Great service, accounts can be accessed 24hr Disadvantages: Junk mail
They`ve got it all - Great onlinebanking, Super 24 hour telephone banking, Branches on most high streets....what more could you ask for!
I`ve been with Barclays since I was a wee little kiddy and I`m still happy to stay with them, yes I have other bank accounts-Natwest, Woolwich and Portman but I use barclays for my main banking.
Their Online service is excellent and combined with 24 hour telephone banking the service is unbeatable.
One gripe I do have is the amount of crap that comes through the post for the likes of loans, credit cards etc. etc.
Counter staff and personal bankers are very curtious and any problems I`ve had have been dealt with promtly and professionally.
I`d highly recommend them to anyone. ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: helpful Review of Barclays Bank
Advantages: Online/telebanking very easy to use and flexible, Can earn more interest Disadvantages: Can be difficult to track large numbers of transactions, Only limited counter services are free
an interest free overdraft of £100, but you can refuse that if you don't want it. And they can offer you a Barclaycard too, but I had enough credit cards already by then!
All in all, although it took a while for me to get used to it, I'm actually rather pleased with my Open Plan account. It's the most flexible account I have right now, and their customer services are quite helpful too if you get stuck. This is by no means indicative of all the Woolwich products.
I don't think I would recommend this to someone who is not comfortable with onlinebanking, as I find myself having to keep a close eye on the accounts. And the restrictions on what you can do at the counter are a real pain if you like to bank in person, you could find yourself being lumbered with some quite hefty charges.
