Review of Woolworth Worth IT! Upright Cyclonic Vacuum by  balfury

Advantages: good for when your vacuum breaks
Disadvantages: not so good when this one breaks too!

...Woolworth Worth IT! Upright Cyclonic Vacuum History I purchased this item in January 08 for £25 (its now £30) at my Local Woolies after my beloved Dyson finally gave up on me. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a new vacuum cleaner and after a bit of research this was the cheapest I found. I bought it home and eagerly ripped open the box, assembly was very simple, you just plop the handle in the top and you will hear a satisfying clip. I was eager to get going as it had been 5 days since my Dyson packed up and my rooms were in desperate need of a hoover! Performance I have to say the I was not entirely impressed, maybe this was because I'm used to having the power of a Dyson behind my push but this one just didn't have the oomph behind it. However I persevered, it picked up the dirt relatively well but after one room I... Read review

Antony Worrall Thompson king of the blenders.
Review of Breville HM1 Hand Blender by  mjbarkley

Advantages: easy to use and easy to clean
Disadvantages: only has one speed and only useful with its measuring jug.

...When buying kitchen equipment I very rarely consider the appearance but I am more concerned with its specifications and cost. I decided that a blender was just what I needed to help me prepare food for my baby. I went down to Argos determined to buy something cheap and cheerful. When I had looked through the catalogue I decided to get the second lowest price one there which cost £14.99. It was more powerful than the cheaper one and the same specification as the next one. The blender came with a detachable foot for easy washing, a mixing beaker and a cookery book. The blender is a silver colour with the signature of Antony Worrall Thompson emblazoned across it. The food in the cookery book is AWT's recipes. To use this piece of equipment is very easy, make sure the appliance is plugged in and press a button. The blades whiz... Read review

Cookworks Silver Glass Blender
Review of Cookworks Silver Glass Blender by  sufisu

Advantages: Easy to clean, cheap and effective.
Disadvantages: Glass jug is quite heavy and sometimes it doesn't blend efficiently

...After my previous, very expensive, blender blew up, I decided to go for a cheaper model and opted for the Cookworks blender with glass jug and, considering it came in at just under £20, it's a very effective blender. This has 2 speeds plus a pulse option. The glass jug is very simple to clean, unlike plastic ones which may be lighter but have the disadvantage of material clinging to the sides. With the glass jug, everything is washed away very quickly. The lid is rubbery/bendy plastic which gives a very tight fit so no chance of the lid flying off and splattering all over the kitchen and the stopper is one of those that is push and twist to secure. Drawbacks are that the glass jug is really quite heavy and obviously breakable if dropped. I use mine for smoothies, sauces and soups and have found that sometimes, even... Read review
