Advantages: The help system is amazing Disadvantages: Wordcount!
...When I bought my PC, I was impressed with the hardware package but I was a little concerned with the software. As a total user of MS Office for everything I ever did I was skeptical about the preinstalled package, Corel WordPerfectOffice 2000. But when I first loaded up my new PC and sorted it out, I was more than happy. The Office has many features, more than I ever use, and has been just as reliable as MS OfficeWordPerfect 9
This is basically Word. It even has it in the title. When you load it up, it looks like Word. When you select the toolbars, you can actually have Word 97 toolbars! Not that the WordPerfect ones aren't good enough. It performs identically to Word, though some features are missing, but I would never use them anyway. The best thing about it is that you can save documents as Word files, up to Word 97, and also...

Advantages: Its used by every one Disadvantages: MS and price
...Office has been a highly capable product for years, making it hard for Microsoft to come up with compelling new features. New in OfficeStandardEdition 2003 is great integration with SharePoint Services running on Windows Server 2003, allowing users to save documents to an internal website with features like update notification, task lists and version control. Tablet PC users get built-in support for Ink, letting you add handwritten notes and drawings to Office documents. Those with constant Internet access will like the updated Task Pane, offering online help and potentially third-party services direct from the Internet. Outlook has been reworked in this edition, with a better interface and more secure e-mail reading. Word 2003 is enhanced with a new Reading view, using ClearType technology and automatic page-sizing for ease...

Advantages: looks good, they have ironed out little 'niggles' Disadvantages: none really, probably price!
...; before Office XP, crying, swearing and starting again were the 3 options. Now when you reboot the programme you find your lovely little Office programme has thoughtfully saved your work for you in a temporary folder. Ahh bless it!!
Now I think we need some tecky bits – the recommended requirements are as follows;
300mhz processor,128MB of RAM, Windows 98 or later (or NT 4 or later), 360MB hard disk space, CD Rom, Super VGA (800x600)or higher resolution monitor with 256 colours and compatible pointing device (that’s a mouse, to normal folk!)
If you fancy upgrading your older version of Office, bear in mind you can only upgrade from 97 or 2000 to XP and no other versions. Also this time you cannot upgrade from Works.
The different SKU’s are;
Standard – which has Word 2002, Excel 2002, Outlook 2002...
