I became an Avon Sales Leader (as opposed to an Avon representative) a few months ago. My job is to find and train representatives, and other Sales Leaders.
If you are an outgoing person, who is quite happy talking to strangers, this could be for you. You also need to be organised, be able to motivate yourself, be able to pick yourself up when you fall (and you will!) and not accept that No always means NO!
The rewards? Freedom of lifestyle, you work when you want to,; Regarding income, you are self employed, on commission only (although Avon do throw in Fast Start Bonuses of £350, + other incentives too). This means that when you start, you seem to do a lot of work for a little money, but its a bit like pushing a car up a hill, it's hard work to get it to the top of the hill, but when it gets there, it will roll down very fast, and you will not be able to control it - and that is how you're income will grow!
For those of you who are familiar with the terms MLM/multi level marketing/network marketing, Avon is now an MLM company, which means that not only do you earn on your personal team, you also earn on your teams team! And their team's team! Sounds confusing? Well, it isn't! Think of it this way - you train your team, and because you have helped and supported them, they are now happy little Avon representatives, making money, so you deserve to be rewarded. So thats where your commission comes in, on your team. Now, when some members of your team decide that they want to be a Sales Leader like you, you help them find and train their team, and you also earn commission on their work! That's only fair, isn't it? And it goes down another level too!
However, if you are the sort of person looking for a get rich quick scheme, this is NOT for you!
