Hi there, I thought I would share my experiences of homeworking with you. First off, heres one that almost anyone over the age of 16 can do, and that is become an Avon Rep, I have been one for 4 years now and really enjoy it. You will find info on becoming a rep at www.avon.uk.com. You don't have to go round doors with brochures, although obviously if you do you will increase your sales! Commission of 20% is paid on orders over £45, (although that may have changed), and orders over £100 you get 25%, it really isn't hard to reach that amount in sales once you get started, there are loads of ways to get orders other than door to door, for example..... friends and family, playgroup/nursery/school, work (if you already have another job), leaving a few brochures in your local shop/hairdressers and once you have been doing it for a while word of mouth, you will often find people asking for a brochure for a friend. You do have to buy the brochures and samples, but I still make a decent profit, I now have around 45 customers and round about 29 orders each campaign. An order goes away every 3 weeks and on average I clear around £65 -£70 after buying brochures and samples. It's not a fortune but it pays a bill or 2 each month and you are meeting people all the time. You can even do your order online now and share tips with other reps!

Next is Telephone Market Research, the company I sometimes do work for is called The Survey Shop, you should find a freephone number for them if you do a search online. I would recommend them, you get paid £6 per hour for doing consumer surveys and £8 for business ones, it is cold calling but they provide you with names and telephone numbers to call, and by keying in a special number before the number you are calling means the company is billed for all calls! Work consists of conducting surveys over the telephone for different companies, they are very varied both in time and topics, and are often quite interesting! Payment is made on the same day each month into your bank without any problem. The work is not regular though, maybe 1 or 2 surveys to do per month, usually you get around 4 days to complete the required amount of surveys per job. From this job I have earned a minimum of £68 and max £92 for one survey. I Believe this company may also recruit field market researchers, although this is not something i have done.

Good Luck to anyone who may be interested in trying out any of the above.

Regards

Elaine
