World Championship Snooker overall is not a bad game but there are several really annoying things that could be ironed out quite easily. For starters the menu is really monotonous and lacks in the graphics department. Plus the song that plays over and over on the menu can really get on your nerves after awhile! But apart from these things it is a good game. You can play against twenty top professional's including Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stephen Hendry. There are several venues to play at including the Crucible Theatre and if you start off at the bottom in a career mode, you can play in your local snooker hall!
Story Line: N/A
Gameplay: When you're at the table Gameplay is really good. Choose whether or not to go up against the computer or play yourself in practice. Then you can ever have help (ball aimer on or off, colours nominated for you e.t.c) or no help, depending on your skill level. But be warned; prepare to have lots of spare time when playing a game (you can save in-between frames, but not while you're playing) because the computer-controlled player can take a while to play a shot. There is a stupid video clip in-between shot's that cannot be removed in the menu. You can choose to do a career mode and work your way up to a Pro but this takes a lot of time and is just not worth it. In general though Gameplay is very good.
Graphics: The in-game graphics for this are good, especially when you think how old the game is but they are nothing to write home about. The menu graphics are just pathetic.
Sound: The menu song is really annoying. There is commentary by Dennis Taylor during games but this can also be a bit tedious as he repeats tons of catchphrases and sound bites over & over…
Appeal: Appealing to snooker fans for sure, but in the end just gets damn right boring and annoying!!
Conclusion: World Snooker Championship can be highly addictive in the start but after a couple of days you'll be fed up and never touch it again…so in my opinion it's not worth the box it comes in.

this game is not the best game that i have seen in the world. its good the first few games but gets rather repetetive after a few weeks of playing it. the graphics themselves are not to bad but not the best i have ever seen. this game may be useful buying for the younger generation. as it can be really easy to play. there are parts of the game that will help the younger ones learn. the thing i like the most about this game is the part where u can ...

Pretty average Review ofWorld Championship Snooker 2004 (PC)by

Advantages: All the current players and competition Disadvantages: A bit too difficult and not very exciting
...up to date and the world rankings are accurate, and the ball physics when playing the game are pretty much just like playing the real thing. Also you have extra games such as pool and billiards, which adds to the longevity ofthe game. There are some drawbacks though, such as the learning curve being far too steep. It took me a while to learn how to play, though this may just be because i'm not very good at snooker! The graphics were average and some ...
