I bought a PC for use at home from World of Computers. I chose them because they offered a good package that I could tailor, and they were local so I felt confident that I could get any problems sorted out quickly. Plus the price was good too - not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Lastly, they had been in business for a long time, so I didn't feel I was taking a risk that they would disappear overnight.
I would happily buy from them again. The shop itself is pleasant, and there is free parking just outside. I wasn't jumped on by pushy ill-informed salespeople as soon as I entered. On the contrary, the staff were polite and knowledgeable and helped me out to my car with all the boxes.
I asked for advice on how to copy things from the hard disk in an existing computer and the advice was straightforward and given happily and promptly (temporarily disconnect the CD drive in the new computer, and connect the old hard drive in its place).
When I got it home there was a problem with the screen going blank after a while. I took everything back and they tested it. The problem was quickly diagnosed - I had tried to use my old monitor rather than buying a new one, and the old monitor couldn't cope. I bought a new monitor and since then all has been well.
