A simple card game on a portable device - seems like a simple and addictive idea and it is! The idea of having the ability to play all the different versions of possibly the greatest card game around on the move is almost too good to be true! But what about the game then?

Well, it is simple to play and intuitively put together to allow even the most novice player gain a good grounding in the art of poker. You can play a simple one off game or start a career - this is most definitely the way to go as you can experience all the varities of poker that there are (I found out that seven card stud is not my game!).

In addition to this, you end up getting a huge buzz out of winning hands, forcing other players to fold, bluffing a win and genuinely winning a hand. One potential flaw in the game is that, as soon as you take charge of a table, it is easy to outbet your opponents and force them into folding early. Having said that though, the further you get into a tournament, you do have to re-evaluate your tactics on a regular basis to ensure that you don't lose your seat.

Graphics wise, the game is nothing to shout home about. It is though, after all, a card and gambling game and as such, this is not a major worry as the graphics quality does not impact on the game. There is also the possibility of playing against other PSP users over wi-fi and also on the net. However, I can't comment on these 2 functions of the game as I've not used them! I can imagine though that they enhance the appeal of the game - it must be good fun getting one over a human opponent at least as much as defeating a computer one!

Overall, this is an excellent package which shows just how addictive gambling and playing cards can be - the good part is that you're not going to drag yourself into debt playing it!
