Advantages: Fun multiplayer, weapons, cartoony graphics, weapon creator, single player and basically everythin Disadvantages: You might think it is a bit pointless
...It is amazing how killing worms with bazookas and shotguns can be so much fun but it is and this is proven by the number of games in this brilliant series!
Another feature of Worms 4 Mayhem is that for the first time the single player is good! This leads me onto another great thing about this game which is the fact you can customise and make your own team of worms. I played this game around a friend's house and did not think it was going to be very good how wrong I was! I was so impressed with this game I bought it a week later!
The game is best on multiplayer where you can play up to 4 players on one console using only one controller because the game is turn based. The multiplayer is fantastic and there is nothing more satisfying than crushing your friend with a concrete donkey or shooting them with a bazooka! It is amazing how killing worms with bazookas and shotguns can be so much fun but it is and this is proven by the number of games in this brilliant series!
Another feature of Worms 4 Mayhem is that for the first time the single player is good! There is now a single player story mode where you play through a variety of challenges and missions controlling a team of worms. These missions can involve climbing, collecting and the best ones are destroying stuff. There are also challenges in this addition which are quite good and completing these gives you coins which you can spend in the shop to get new maps, hairstyles to make your team look unique.
The graphics are cartoony in style and are pleasant to look at and match the game perfectly. With this crazy and somewhat stupid and fun game you would not want the graphics to be realistic. Who wants to see an accurate worm on a video game?
The sounds are also great and the worms talk in funny voices. This leads me onto another great thing about this game which is the fact you can customise and make your own team of worms. This involves naming them, (which can be a laugh!) choosing their costumes, voices and much more! Did I mention the weapons!
The weapons are also great and some are very funny! My favourite is the concrete donkey but you can get an inflatable fat person, bombing cows, air blitz, bazookas, banana bombs, holy hand grenade and much more! If that is not enough you can even make your own weapon (the only downside is that they have limits so you cannot make a weapon best on everything!
Overall I think this is a brilliant game and an excellent addition to the Worms's series. You have endless fun blowing up your mates worms and now have a decent single player mode along with great customising modes. What more could you want? I think the word mayhem sounds it up perfectly! 5/5
