Terry Pratchett has tried to make an adaption of the William Shakespeare play Macbeth and has be very successful! It has a great edge to the story and keeps you enticed from the first page. Everything there is supposed to be in a proper fantasy novel is in that book and comes off very strong and very well.

I have given this book to all to all of my family and they are all reading it together every night.

Anyone who is thinking of buying this book should just go out and buy it because it's one of the most thought out books of the century. Once you pick this book up, you will hardly ever want to put it down!

The plot: Three witches gather and talk about the future and all that is to be happening and all that has happened. One day they find out that their faithful King Verence has been killed but they suspect that it wasn't an accident.

The new King is a horrible and miserable little man named Lord Felmet and his large and ill tempered wife is named Lady Felmet. Together they try and rule a land of vast grass and few cottages. The Dead King Verence is trapped in Limbo and cannot cross over untill a certain deed has been forefilled.

The witches are one day bundled with a baby and have to find a suitable home for this small boy. They leave him in the arms of a wealthy man who goes by the name of Vitoller and his lovely wife lady Vitoller (why does that not surprise you?). A dwarf named Hwel also looks after the young lad who is soon named Tomjon.

A terrible disturbance sweeps the land and the witches have to stop Lord Felmet from taking place on the throne and get the one person who should be to come back to the small town Lance. Will the witches save Lancre? Will King Verence ever cross over? Will Tomjon ever know his real parents and will he ever know the wonders of his true future? To find out the answers to these questions, just buy the book!

Granny Weatherwax-an old witch with a perfect complexion and a very short temper.

Lord Felmet-A stubborn and petty man who has gone quite mad with power.

Lady Felmet-A plump and tall woman who is always bossing her husband around.

Tomjon-The son of King Verence.

Hwel-A dwarf that writes plays and gets Tomjon to Lancre.

Good first op. It would be a little easier to read if you could add in blank lines between paragraphs (you can use the edit button to do this), but apart from that, well done! Anyway, a belated welcome to Ciao, hope you enjoy it here, Karen :O)
